PTA Weekly Update
August 17, 2026
August 17, 2026
Good morning Huskie families,
Welcome back! And a warm welcome to families new to Spring Brook. We hope you enjoyed a fun and relaxing summer - even with all of the heat and rain, it sure flew by!
Thank you to all who stopped by the PTA's ice cream social last week after meeting your new teachers. The weather flipped our plans indoors, but you all made the most of it! A special thanks to ALL of the volunteers who made the event possible and to our sponsors: Ultimate Ninjas Academy Naperville, Twinkle Star Dance Academy, Good Story Vacations, Erin O'Connell Real Estate.
Our membership drive is officially on. Thank you to all of you who have already signed up! The first 150 members to join the PTA will receive a calendar magnet so you don't miss any school or PTA activities this year. See below to learn more about how the PTA supports our students and teachers. Please consider supporting our efforts by joining the PTA.
- We have several committee openings this year. More info can be found below. Contact Marissa Kopp if you're thinking about getting involved.

What is the PTA? How Can I Get Involved?
PTA stands for Parent Teacher Association, a school-based organization with a mission to make school a better place for students to learn. We are a group of parents, guardians, family & community members, teachers, and administrators that work together to create fun events, support students and staff, and collaborate with others to make our students' time at school the best possible. We invest over $55,000 annual to enhance learning and enrich our school community.
Our success as an organization depends on parent, teacher, and community involvement.
Please join us by becoming a Spring Brook PTA member this year!
The first 150 members to join the PTA for the 2026-27 school year will receive a calendar magnet
with all important school dates. Additional prizes and incentives will be announced in the coming weeks!
Mum Fundraiser
Decorate Your Space and Support Spring Brook and We Grow Dreams
Fall will be here before we know it! Be ready with this special opportunity to support two organizations with one purchase.
We have once again partnered with We Grow Dreams Greenhouse, a local not-for-profit corporation that provides job training and employment opportunities for people with disabilities. This is our fourth year working together and their mums are always stunning and long lasting.
You can order 9" round pots or 10" hanging baskets in assorted colors. Plants are anticipated to be in full bloom during the first week of October. Pickup will be held in late September at the Breckenridge Clubhouse from 2:00-6:00 p.m.
Note: $5 of your purchase goes back to support the Spring Brook PTA!
Mums are on sale through Wednesday, August 26.
Show Your School Spirit!
Orders Due by Monday, September 7
Back to school means new backpacks, shoes, and of course, NEW SPIRIT WEAR! Don't miss your chance to purchase this year's newest designs. Two new designs are available in three colors and in t-shirts, performance tees, and hoodies. This is your only opportunity to order spirit wear this fall.
Visit our spirit shop to purchase yours today. Orders are due September 7 and will be sent home with students a few weeks later.
Community Relations
A Note from Our Community Relations Chair:
The PTA is always looking for new ways to partner with the community to enrich the lives of our students. We expanded our sponsorship program last year and plan to continue these efforts in the 2026-2027 school year.
If your family owns or is connected to a local business and is interested in sponsoring a Spring Brook event, please see the attached letter for more information or reach out to Ellen Mulryan.

PTA Reflections Program Theme for 2026-2027
The national PTA has been committed to arts education for more than 50 years. Students who love art, music, photography, dance, writing, or film are invited to create original works of art for the PTA's Art Reflections Program. Each year, hundreds of thousands of students in pre-K through grade 12 participate, creating artwork in response to a student-created theme.
The theme for the 2026-2027 Art Reflections Program was just announced: “What My Culture Means to Me.” Take some time this summer with your kids to think about this theme. Entries will be due mid October.
