Good Morning Memorial Families,
I hope that everyone enjoyed the weekend, and I'd like to offer my gratitude towards the Veterans in our Memorial community who have bravely served our country.
Thank you to all of the families who joined us for our first family math night last Wednesday. We had a good turnout and we hope that it was a fun and informative night for all that attended. A big thank you to Cayla McBee, for hosting a table in the gym and providing students and adults with some brain teasing puzzles to solve. I'd also like to thank the families who contributed to our "Math at Work" slideshow presentation. I am linking it here so that you can take a peek at what some of our parents do with math in their careers. Please share this with your children so they can see the importance of math in our world.
Next Wednesday night at 6:00pm in the cafeteria, I will be sharing more about the shifts in the elementary progress reporting this year. I will have resources available for parents and this night should help you as you head into our first progress reporting period at parent-teacher conferences. While you will not receive a formal report card until the end of January, this time spent with your child's teacher will include information about how your child is progressing on the standards that we assess on the report card. If you have not yet scheduled a time to meet with your child's teacher, please be sure to do so this week.
