Winter Break: Two-Week Vacation

Last Day is Friday, December 22, 2023 (Minimum Day)

Return to School Monday, January 8, 2024

FAMILY is a word that comes to mind for all the celebrations in the month of December. Our Powell family is coming together in many ways to bring JOY and the gift of friendship to our school.

We continue with IReady testing and other mid-year assessments, so attendance is key! Please encourage your child to do their very best. Powell Eagles will SOAR with all of our support!

Building Community: This is SPIRIT WEEK. We hope you can help your child participate. And we hope to see you at the Music Concert and Festive Family Night on Wednesday, December 20!

On Wednesday December 20th, we will be holding our first ever Festive Family Night. Powell Student Council, WRAP and Vocal/Instrumental Music are teaming up to bring you a celebration of winter holidays around the world. Starting at 5pm, our music department will provide you with both vocal and instrumental holiday music in the gym. Families will be able to join us in the quad from 5:00-7:00 PM for games, crafts, photos, and other fun surprises.

Building Community: We will be accepting donations at the front gate of new socks and soap to benefit the Long Beach Rescue Mission.

This is sure to be a festive night for all - don’t forget to wear your Ugly (or Cute) Christmas Sweater!

We continue testing in Grades 1-8 this week. Any student who has not finished will take make-up tests this week. Encourage your Eagle to show what they know and GROW!

Thank you for the many contributions you make to your child's progress at school, including making sure they arrive at school on time & ready to learn. We are SOARING TOGETHER at Powell!
