During our Monday student leadership assembly, we discussed the phrase "Think Before You Act". Many students shared that they have heard this phrase before said to them. This is sometimes said in response to an action we might have done when we should not have or when we needed to reflect on a choice we made. The IB learner profile of a Thinker is one who "uses critical and creative thinking skills to analyze and take responsible action on complex problems. They exercise initiative in making reasoned, ethical decisions." Our leaders have worked throughout the year to develop their critical and creative thinking skills. We encourage them to see problems that exist in our world and think of ways to take responsible action. Each of our leaders are developing their thinking skills to take action in working together to build a better and more just world.

Our leaders in Kinder - 5th grade are eagerly preparing for their upcoming Sea World excursion! As we continue exploring the theme of Sharing the Planet, our leaders will take this opportunity to learn about ocean habitats, conservation, and how their voice makes a difference in the world. Each leader received a yellow shirt that they wear when they visit Sea World. They have reflected and created their own design and message related to Sharing the Planet.

Thank you to the Enhanced Learning Award from the Assistance League of San Antonio for making this experience possible and thank you to the Compadres of Edgewood for their grant to purchase the shirts every leader will design and wear on May 7th!
