What is...Thanksgiving? by Olivia & Mrs. Murray
Thanksgiving is a special holiday celebrated in the United States on the fourth Thursday of November. The holiday started long ago when the Pilgrims, early settlers from England, shared a feast with Native Americans to celebrate a successful harvest. While time has taught us that there are conflicting accounts of this day in history, today, people celebrate Thanksgiving by enjoying traditional foods like turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, and pumpkin pie with their family and friends. It is a time to come together and celebrate what we are grateful for in our lives.
Some families go around the table and share things they are thankful for, like their health, friends, or even just having a roof over their heads. It’s a way to remind everyone of the good things in life and to appreciate what we have. After the meal, many people like to relax, enjoy each other’s company, and watch parades, sports, or spend time with loved ones during this time. Speaking of parades, did you know that the Macy's Day Parade has been a tradition since 1924. While it started with Macy's employees walking down the street with animals, it has grown to a world wide event that features giant themed balloons, floats, and performances from international bands and singers. While the Parade fills the streets of New York with thousands of people, most of America celebrates in a more tranquil atmosphere at home. Thanksgiving is meant to be a day full of warmth, kindness, and appreciation without expectation.

Students Doing Good & Delivering Snacks
Something that all of the staff here is grateful for is our new system of snack deliveries during the day. Thank you to Kristina Craine, Brooks Mullen, Oliver Perniola, , Lucas Ricciarelli, Max Stimpson, and Brayden Tate for participating in this new and innovative program. It is hard work, takes preparation and planning, but they also like to have fun too. Lucky for us, those are all of the same components found in some of the most successful companies.
