A Note from Mr. Steven Will, Interim Principal

I am honored to serve as the interim principal at Hardy Elementary School and consider it a privilege to provide leadership and support to the school and community. I am looking forward to meeting the Hardy community and becoming part of the school during my time here.

My goal is to support the positive relationships, collaboration, and sense of community that already exist among staff, students, families, and the broader Hardy community. I look forward to listening, learning, and working alongside everyone to help make these coming weeks a positive and productive experience for the school.

Help Select Hardy's Next Principal

The community input survey has now closed, but there’s another opportunity for Hardy families to participate in the principal selection process.

The School District is seeking family, certificated staff, and classified staff representatives to serve on the Community Interview Panel on Friday, October 2 and help evaluate principal candidates.

Interested family members should complete the Community Panel Interest Form by this Wednesday, Sep 16. Panelists must be available in person for the full day on October 2. Those selected will be notified by Friday, Sep 18.

After-School Enrichment Update

We recognize some of your favorite after-school enrichment programs haven’t returned to Hardy yet. Due to campus construction and PrimeTime’s expansion, we have limited space and are working to find programs that meet our schedule and space restrictions. Once the new lunch arbor comes online after Thanksgiving, we hope to have more flexibility. In the meantime, we continue to have active discussions with dance, chess, kung fu, tennis, and cheer programs who may be able to start even sooner. Thank you for your patience as we find the best solutions for our students, staff, and space.

🦉 PTA Meeting — This Thursday

Hardy has been through a lot of change in a short time, and this feels like an especially important moment to stay connected and keep showing up for our students, teachers, and one another.

Please join us for our PTA General Meeting this Thursday, September 17 at 6:15pm in the Hardy Auditorium, with an online option for families who can't attend in person (LINK).

This meeting matters: we'll be voting on the programs and budget that will guide PTA spending for the full school year, and we want families to understand what's planned, ask questions, and have a voice in these decisions.

Everyone is welcome to attend, only current PTA members may vote.

Thank you to everyone who joined us Friday for Toy Story 5, and a big thank-you to our Dads Club for organizing such a fun night.

We had a terrific turnout, and our 5th graders kept everyone well supplied with concessions! Proceeds from concession sales go to their end-of-year celebrations. ❤️

🎨 Draw-Along Art Assembly This Friday!

PTA is pleased to fund a live draw-along art assembly to kinesthetically engage students and inspire creativity, especially during this transition period. PTA members have expressed a desire for STEAM enrichment and we're happy to continue bringing a variety of interactive workshops and assemblies throughout the school year.

5th Grade Otter Pop Sales are Back!

First Day: this Wednesday Sep 16 after school

50 cents a Pop, and all funds raised go towards 5th Grade Promotion Celebrations!

Coastal Cleanup Day — Sat, Sep 19

Looking for a hands-on way to help our neighborhood?

I Love A Clean San Diego’s 42nd Annual Coastal Cleanup Day is happening this Saturday, Sep 19, and an SDSU-led cleanup along Montezuma Road will meet right here in the Hardy parking lot.

Because this site is along a busy street, it’s best suited for adults and older kids.
