The News The News

This seems like it has been the busiest week of the year at PCHS! I will just bullet-point it for you:

Monday

* We reflected on the 15th anniversary of the April 27, 2011 tornado that ravaged our community and school.

* Our students participated in the Special Olympics at Belgreen

* Our golf team participated in the section golf tournament with Taylor Wallace and Luke Morgan qualifying for substate

* Ragan Moss participated in the AHSAA leadership program along with 32 other student-athletes from across the state

* Our band performed their spring concert for our students

Tuesday

* Our Seniors participated in our second annual College and Career Reveal program showcasing their future plans and words of advice for our underclassmen

Wednesday

* Mission Medical and Encore Rehabilitation performed over 300 physicals for out student-athletes. Tharptown HS also came to PCHS for their's as well.

Thursday

* Fun Day was a hit with mini golf, Rook, dodgeball, whiffle ball, indoor flag football, art and creative writing contests. Our students had a blast!

* The first public performance of Footloose The Musical at Northwest.

Friday

* Our students got their own performance of Footloose The Musical at Northwest in the morning. The cast turned around and did another public one that night.

* Our baseball team split the first two games of the second round of the playoffs at Oakman. The won the first game 5-1 and lost the second game 14-6.

Saturday

* Our baseball team lost game three to Oakman 10-4 ending their season with a 24-14 record.

* Our softball team lost the first game of the area tournament to Mars Hill but beat Sheffield in the second game to stay alive.

* Our drama department performed their final showing of Footloose at Northwest.

Sunday

* Our band performed their Spring Concert for the public in the gym. It was a heartfelt sendoff for Mr. Stacy who is leaving PCHS.

So, yeah, it was a lot (and I probably missed something)! But it was fun and great memories were made. Now we prepare for the stretch run of exams, awards banquets and graduation!

Have a great week!
