Principal Message
Hi North Star Families!
This time of year is always bittersweet. Summer is around the corner and there is certainly an excitement in the air; yet, there is also a quiet sense of sadness many of us experience. Seeing the smiles everyday, watching the joy of friendships, and hearing the laughter of students will be missed over the summer months. We can't wait to see our students in September and around town over the summer!
Vision and Mission of North Star
We have our final two Vision and Mission drafts and we want to hear from you! Please take a moment to let us know your thoughts in the very quick Vision and Mission Survey below. We will share our final selection before the end of the school year!
Next Year
The school and teachers will email families with class placements in early September to welcome them to the new school year. In the past, class lists have been posted inside the school and families come to see in which class their child has been placed. Our hope is to notify families/students beforehand to alleviate any anxiety. In addition, I will email families in August to share information about staffing, important dates, and back-to-school details.
From all of us at North Star - thank you for the trust, support, and connection you have shared with us all year. We hope summer brings lasting memories with family and friends!
We can't wait to see you all again in September!!!
Take care,
Beth

PTO help wanted for the 2025-2026 school year! Every parent and staff member is automatically part of the PTO! Interested in getting more involved? Join the PTO Board or co-lead an event — it's a great way to build community and make an impact. Our biggest need right now is support with Fundraising Events like the Read-a-thon, and co-leading specific events such as Movie Night or the School Dance. You’ll receive plenty of support, so you won’t be doing it alone. Learn more about open roles and NSPTO here, and reach out to info@northstarelementarypto.org if you're interested!
5th Grade Celebration – Reminder to RSVP!
We’re celebrating our 5th graders with a Tiki Party on Friday, June 13 at Tumalo Park — and we’ve created a website with everything you need to know!

Note: This is not a school-sponsored event. Parents are responsible for supervising their children.
