Dear Grandview Families,

What a great week at Grandview! Our Tigers continue to settle into their routines, and it has been wonderful to see students learning, growing, and showing their Tiger PRIDE throughout the building.

This week, we focused on Respect and what it looks like through our words, actions, and choices. We encourage families to continue the conversation at home by asking your child how they can show respect to others at school, at home, and in our community.

We also wrapped up our fall MAP assessments this week. Thank you to our families for helping students come to school ready to do their best! Our teachers will now begin digging into the results and using that information to identify students’ strengths and areas for growth as we plan instruction and support for the weeks ahead.

We have lots to look forward to, including High Attendance Day on September 9 and our Grandview Family Safety & Wellness Fair on September 17. We hope to see lots of our Tiger families there!

Thank you, as always, for your continued partnership and support. Have a wonderful weekend, Tigers!

With gratitude,

Dr. Susan Short
Principal, Grandview Elementary School

Grandview Elementary is proud to offer the Girls on the Run program to girls in grades 3-5 this season!

This is a supportive, accessible, and trauma-sensitive environment for girls of all backgrounds and abilities and provides a space to grow and thrive.

A recent independent, longitudinal study of Girls on the Run highlighted the impact of its structured curriculum. Among GOTR girls, 97% of girls learned critical life skills like managing emotions and resolving conflict, and 95% of girls showed improvement in confidence, competence, caring, character, connection, physical activity, or a reduction in screen time.

We’re here to continue that trend! Registration begins AUGUST 31 @ 10:00 am!

High Attendance Day is Coming! High Attendance Day is Coming!

Kentucky High Attendance Day — September 9!

September 9 is Kentucky High Attendance Day, a statewide celebration that highlights the importance of showing up to school each and every day.

At Grandview, every Tiger counts!

When students are at school, they aren't just gaining important instructional time. They are building relationships, developing routines, and staying connected to their school community. Kentucky considers a student chronically absent when they miss 10% or more of the school year, which can add up to as little as two days each month.

Our goal on September 9 is simple: 100% attendance! Unless your child is sick or has another necessary reason to be absent, please help us fill every classroom and show our Tiger PRIDE by having every Tiger at school, on time, and ready to learn.

Every student. Every classroom. Every day matters. Let's show Kentucky how Tigers show up! 🖤💛
