Fairfield Panther Paw

From Mrs Tennenbaum
I don't know about you all but that was not a week that I saw coming. Can't even remember the last time we missed multiple days in a row. We still have a lot of work ahead of us -- I have been overall very pleased with the IReady Mid Year Scores so far. The students are demonstrating what they know and how much they have grown. I am looking forward to having everyone back in school and getting back at it. We have several family engagement events coming up - please mark your calendars and plan to attend. We would love to see you!
Have a great weekend -- be safe and warm!
We have a very special presentation for our families at Fairfield and Harmon regarding Technology and the Brain. We know that children today spend time on devices whether it be a phone, an I pad or a computer/chromebook but how is it affecting their brain development? Not only being cognizant of when children are on devices but also being cognizant of what they are watching is a critical key. I hope that you will join us to hear more about how we can work with our children with today's technology.
When: Tuesday February 3, 6:00 PM
What: Screen Time, Social Media and the Developing Brain. Lynsey Pearson from Pivot Point Counseling puts on this informative workshop for anyone working to help kids make healthy technology decisions.
Where: Fairfield
Cost: FREE
**FREE CHILDCARE from NHS students if parents RSVP.***

Family Cultural Night looking for volunteers!
Our school is hosting a Fairfield Family Culture Night on February 26th. Our goal for this evening is to celebrate the diversity and rich traditions of our Fairfield families. We are looking for parents who would like to teach a short 15-20 minute session about their culture; this could be sharing an artifact, a recipe, music, dress, a digital slideshow about your country, or any other ideas you have! If you are interested in being a part of this event to share about your culture, please email Michelle DiPietro (Michelle_DiPietro@plsd.us) as soon as possible! Thank you!
Kindness Week has moved to February 2-6. Theme Days will be each day next week.
