Happy October! 🌟 This month is filled with exciting events and opportunities, including Open House, Red Ribbon Week, Trunk-or-Treat, the Candy Monster Donation Contest, Family Literacy Night, Book Character Pumpkins, the Book Character Parade, and so much more!

📌 Attendance Reminder:

Our school day begins promptly at 7:50 AM, and consistent attendance is key to student success—every day counts! To support timely arrivals:

• Parents/guardians dropping off students after 7:50 AM will receive a Parent Tardy—a friendly reminder of our start time.

• Students arriving at 8:05 AM or later must be signed in by a parent/guardian at the front office.

We appreciate your partnership in creating a smooth, on-time start for all students. ✨ Details about this month’s events are included below. 👻 Our PTA Boo-Grams Fundraiser is still going strong! 🎃 Students can send up to five Boo-Grams to friends, teachers, or staff to spread some spooky fun! 💌 All Boo-Grams will be delivered on Thursday, October 31st! 🕸️ #BooGrams #RoadrunnerPride #WeAreSmith #BeepBeep #CCISDProud #suCCessISD

PTA is requesting donations of new unopened bags of candy for this year’s Trunk or Treat.🍫🍬

🍭 Each grade level will compete to collect the most pounds of candy. Students may also donate money in place of candy ($5 = 1 pound, $10 = 2 pounds, etc.). All money should be turned in to Ms. Amy. Updates will be shared in the announcements to keep the friendly competition alive!

🍕 The winning grade level will enjoy a pizza party on October 31st, plus bragging rights and a special shoutout on the announcements!

Let’s see which Candy Monster has the biggest appetite—may the best grade level win! 💛🖤❤️

Invitations have been sent home to students who are invited to attend Intersession! 🎉

🎃 Join in on the pumpkin fun! 📚 Bring your favorite book character to life with your creativity! We can’t wait to see our Roadrunners’ imaginative designs and favorite stories shine! 💛✨ Please remember no real pumpkins.

📚 Don’t miss the fun! Our Book Character Parade is happening Friday, October 31st! 🎃 Students are invited to wear school-appropriate costumes inspired by their favorite storybook characters. ✨ Parents/Guardians are welcome to gather along the parade route to see their students shine. ✨ The parade will kick off at 9:00 AM. 🎉 Please note: Costumes must relate to a book character. We are thrilled to announce that Smith Elementary will be offering childcare for CCISD employees! Registration for the 2025-2026 school year is now open.

If you need childcare for a child between 6 weeks and 3 years old (turning 3 after September 1st), please complete the application and select your preferred location.
