Dear Bear Creek Families,
Great first week! This week was wonderful. Thank you for sending your Cubs to school ready to learn. Our students have adjusted back to the school routine so quickly. Our teachers have been able to launch into academics this week. We are excited to be back.
Get ready to kick off the school year at our third annual Bear Creek Limits (BCL) Fall Festival! BCL will take place on September 26th, from 5:30pm to 8:00pm, outdoors on the Bear Creek campus.
BCL is an evening of fun for the entire family and a chance for our community to come together and celebrate our Cub Pride. From delicious food trucks, to kid-friendly games, to thrilling carnival-style attractions… there’s something for everyone! Will you fly high on the Eurobungy? Rock out with the DJ and live performances? Or maybe you’ll get your face painted and send your teacher for a SPLASH in the dunk tank?! We're cranking up the FUN meter at BCL and hope you’ll join us!
Wristbands are required for each child participating in BCL and pre-sales are now open. CLICK HERE to purchase your wristband today! Pre-Sales end (and prices increase!) on September 19th, so snag one today.
The PTA is hard at work creating this memorable experience for our community and we look forward to celebrating with your family!

Mrs. Butler would like for families to take about 5 minutes to share feedback that is essential in guiding our counseling program this year. The Counseling Needs Assessment Form is linked here for ease of access. Don't forget to check out her Counseling Corner below!
No lunch visitors the first two weeks of school. This allows our students and staff to polish routines and tighten systems. Thank you for your assistance with this. When packing your child's lunch, make sure that items packed are ones that they can open themselves.
Sincerely,
Principal
PS. Back to School Information is in the Cub Hub from 8/15/2025. You can access prior Cub Hub's on our Campus Website!

New Texas Law: No Student Personal Device Use During School Hours
Austin ISD
August 12, 2025
During the most recent legislative session, Texas lawmakers passed, and Gov. Greg Abbott signed into law, House Bill 1481, which prohibits students from using personal devices on district premises during school hours.
Effective this school year, House Bill 1481 requires all Texas school districts to prohibit the use of “personal wireless communication devices”—defined as any wireless electronic communication device, other than one issued by the school for instructional purposes, that is capable of transmitting or receiving data.
Items that must now be turned off and put away on Austin ISD campuses from bell to bell:
Personal cell phones
Tablets
Gaming devices
Smart watches
Bluetooth headphones or earbuds
Fitness trackers that can send or receive messages
Personal (non-district-issued) computers (laptops and Chromebooks)
If your student previously used their personal device, please contact your school directly to request a district issued student device.
Two-way radios
Pagers
Any other device capable of digital communication
What this means for Austin ISD:
Devices must be turned off, stored out of sight, and not used during school hours
Exceptions will be made for documented medical needs and special education accommodations
Violations will result in the confiscation of the item
The law aims to enhance student learning, minimize distractions, and reduce the risk of cyberbullying. We know this change will be most successful when families partner with us—your conversations with your students about the importance of being device-free during school will make all the difference. To help them adjust, you might also consider practicing device-free time at home.
