Principal's Message👩🏻🏫
Barron Families,
I hope you all had a restful and joyful break with your loved ones.
As we dive back into our work, let's keep our focus sharp on communicating with teachers and school on student expectations, PBIS, SEL, instruction and the benchmarks we need to meet.
Our students in 3rd, 4th and 5th grade completed interim assessments the week before Thanksgiving break. The interim assessments provide teachers and the campus instructional leadership team with data on student performance on the Texas Essential Knowledge skills. Our teachers continue to engage in the internalization process of our instructional materials, customizing lessons to our students' needs, regular progress monitoring and the use of exit tickets to continue assessing our students' understanding. Parents please speak with your child about their score and how they can continue to improve.
As we work towards our campus goals, let's remember that we have a collective mission to move our school with learning every day and ensuring students are in attendance as we continue to strive for our goal of 95%. Every action we take should be purposeful and aimed at enhancing opportunities for every student!
We have had successful family events through planning of our Events Committee and PTA, so we thank you for participating. We look forward to seeing our families on the 9th for the 4th grade Winter Kids Excel assembly, on the 11th for the GT/Art Expo, on the 14th for the Northeast craft fair at Andress, and the orchestra concert on the 18th of December at Andress HS. Please keep an eye out for invites. We hope that you can join us!
Together, we can ensure all our students are prepared for the MOY (middle of the year) measurements, new learning opportunities, and the necessary enrichment and intervention supports for every student.
Let’s make these last 3 weeks of school count!
Barron Pioneers, together we can accomplish our Mission of Educating, Empowering and Enriching the lives of our students!
Respectfully,
Ms. Vasquez
