November Newsletter
November 1, 2026
Dear Families,
We are thankful for you!
As we prepare to take time off from school for the Thanksgiving break, we want to share our gratitude for everyone in our school community. Your partnership makes it possible for students to come to school every day, on time and ready to learn.
Every day of school is an important opportunity for students to connect with peers and teachers, and to grow personally, socially and academically.
We are thankful for:
- Our students and their families who show up to school regularly, even when it isn’t easy.
- Our staff who go above and beyond to help make school a welcoming learning environment and help us stay safe, connected and excited about learning.
- Our many healers and helpers from support staff and volunteers who provide the extra hands and attention our students need.
We are grateful for everyone’s efforts to avoid taking extra days off during this holiday season.
Thank you for partnering with us!

What Is This Thing Called Winning?
Everybody wants to win. But what does winning actually mean? Is it the final score, a championship trophy, a personal best, a grade on a test, or something much bigger? The truth is, winning comes in many forms, and it isn't always easy to recognize in the moment. It is tough. It creates doubt and fear, challenges us in ways we can't always explain, and pushes us well beyond our comfort zones. There are days when the work feels endless, the results don't come, and we question whether all the effort is worth it. So why chase it? Because choosing not to chase something better is choosing to settle. Whether in the classroom, on the court, on the stage, or in our everyday interactions, the pursuit of winning is about refusing to settle for what is comfortable or easy.
As we move through another busy stretch of the school year, I encourage all of our students, staff, coaches, and families to be proud of the work being done every day. Trust the process, even when the results aren't immediate. Celebrate the small victories, learn from the difficult days, and recognize that growth doesn't always come with a grade, a score, or a trophy. Winning is found in the relationships we build, the challenges we overcome, the standards we hold ourselves to, and the way we represent Red River. Don't get so caught up in reaching the destination that you forget to enjoy the journey. Be proud, trust the process, and make the most of each day. That's what winning is all about.

District Information
All In-District Transfer Requests for the 2027-28 school year are due to the district office by January 15, 2027. Requests are based on class sizes, specialized caseloads, along with the students' current grades, attendance, and behavior. Completing the form does not guarentee the request will be approved. Also, please note that capacity concerns can reverse the current placement decision.
