Westmoor Weekly 04/10/26
Author Order Form attached
April 10, 2026
A Note from Principal Eck
Dear Westmoor Families,
We wrapped up our state standardized tests in Language Arts and Math—great job to all our students for their hard work and focus! Next up, our 5th graders will be taking the Illinois Science Assessment next week. You've got this!
This time of year marks our final trimester of learning. Students have built strong routines and confidence, allowing them to fully engage in and enjoy our lessons. It’s also the time when we begin looking ahead to next year. If you would like to share any information to support class placement, please see the form linked below so we can consider your input.
We have our monthly Bulldog pack meeting on Wednesday after lunch. Please have your student wear their t-shirt to school that day!
Finally, we had a fantastic time during our March Book Madness! Above, you’ll find the results by grade level.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
Quote of the Week
Each week students may submit a positive quote that captures and motivates their peers to persevere and feel good. We then showcase the quotes throughout the school building. Students may submit a quote, using this link.
Kindness is key!
The moment you give up is the moment you lose (so don't give up.)
SCHOOL NEWS
2026-27 Class Placements
We strive to establish a positive learning setting for your child by carefully considering various factors when determining class placements. These factors include the child's academic strengths, areas for improvement, IEP and 504 plan requirements, English language support needs, social-emotional considerations, peer interactions, and preferred teaching styles.
Please note that we do not accommodate specific friendship or teacher requests for class assignments. However, we value your input on the classroom environment that would best support your child's learning and development.
If you would like to provide us with your feedback, please complete this form. Any correspondence regarding class placements is due by 4 PM on Friday, April 17, 2026.
Donations Needed
Dr. Krauter's class is collecting toiletries to donate to the Housing Opportunities Development Corporation (HODC), an organization that assists people who need housing. People who are unhoused often need toiletries, and we can help. We’re also collecting T-shirts without distracting logos or sequins to make bags for the toiletries we collect. Donations can be placed in bins, which will be placed at every entrance around the school. This project will take place from March 20 through April 15. More information on HODC is available at https://hodc.org/.
Share a picture with us!
We’re excited to showcase the special moments and achievements of our students and their families. Whether it’s a holiday, cultural tradition, a child’s milestone like riding a bike without training wheels, a big win at a soccer game, welcoming a new pet, or anything else that makes you proud — we’d love to feature it! Here is the link to share a photo and brief description.
