Chinese Class at Huntington Gardens Chinese Class at Huntington Gardens

Chinese students visited the Chinese Gardens at The Huntington on March 12, 2025. The gardens represented 1800s Suzhou elite culture: structures surrounding a small lake are filled with iconic symbols of prosperity and wealth, presenting an appreciation of tranquil, formalized nature that included plants and animals.

Students were able to go on their own self-guided tours and take pictures of various architectural features such as moon gates, zigzag bridges, limestone rocks, waterfalls, and pavilions. They reported back about the views with descriptions of how feng shui elements were incorporated into each aspect of the garden, and how each perspective can create its own landscape painting.

🚨 Attention Juniors: Find the Right College Fit for You!

As you enter the exciting journey of preparing for college, it’s time to start thinking about what type of college is the right fit for YOU! This next chapter of your life should reflect your passions, goals, and personal preferences.

Here are some tips to guide you in making the best decision:

  1. Academic Programs – Look for colleges that offer the majors or programs that excite you! Whether it’s engineering, art, business, or anything in between, finding a school with strong academics in your field is crucial.

  2. Campus Life – College is about more than just classes. Do you want a large campus with lots of activities, or a smaller, more tight-knit community? Think about what environment will make you feel at home.

  3. Location – Consider whether you’d prefer to be near home, in a big city, or in a more rural setting. What type of weather and location will you thrive in?

  4. Financial Fit – Don’t forget to think about affordability. Look into scholarships, financial aid, and the overall cost of tuition to ensure it fits within your family’s budget.

  5. Campus Visits – Visit as many campuses as you can! Walk around, talk to students, and experience the atmosphere to see if it feels like the right place for you.

  6. Talk to Others – Reach out to current students, alumni, and guidance counselors to get insights and advice on what might be the best fit for you.

Watch the video below to understand more about how to choose the college that is the best match for YOU. Trust your instincts, and remember: this is YOUR future, so make it count!
