Luce Road Family Update
May 12-16, 2025
We are starting to wind down on the school year, but regular attendance is still important for our young students at school. Our kindergarteners are preparing for 1st grade, regular and on-time attendance is important for them to be successful.
Reminder, school begins at 7:53am. If you are dropping your student off after this time, you will need to drop-off in the office and sign your student in. Mrs. Pratt will ensure that your student makes a lunch choice. If your child has an appointment in the morning and will be arriving after 9:00am, please all the office to let us know and make a lunch choice for your student.
Classroom Volunteers
We are looking for classroom volunteers to help with tasks such as, laminating, organizing workbook pages, project prep, student work displays, etc. If you would like to volunteer please call the office (989-463-1012) or email: thahn@almaschools.net.

MyMichigan has a school-based health center now open at DLPMS. The website is attached for more information.
Family Literacy
Talking is Teaching National Campaign
Gratiot/Isabella Great Start Collaborative is a partner for this national campaign. Each week, they publish a Weekly Family Challenge. They have also added a "Secret Monthly Message" that is hidden in each week's Family Challenge. When you access the Weekly Family Challenge each week you can search for the inappropriately capitalized letters and string them together in order for the month, and it will spell out a secret message. The first family to complete the form (which is linked to each inappropriately capitalized letter) with the correct message wins a $10 gift card! The form will be shut off as soon as someone completes it for the month. The Weekly Family Challenge is linked below.

Please make sure you are using and checking the APS app, Rooms. This is the way your teacher will communicate with you throughout the year about all the great things going on in your classroom. If you have any questions about the app please contact the main office, 989-463-1012.

K-5 Summer Care
We are excited to announce that we will be offering summer care for K-5 students this summer! At this time, we have limited slots of 18. Click the picture to begin enrollment or Kimberly Hamad at 989-466-7593.
