Message from Dr. Davis
Dear KISD Families,
STAAR testing begins next week, and I want to share something simple and honest.
Testing isn’t everything. But it does matter.
It matters because it reflects the work our students have been doing all year. And it’s one way we measure how well we’re serving our students.
Our teachers and staff have been preparing students every day — teaching, re-teaching, encouraging, and building confidence. That work is paying off.
Our students are more prepared than they think.
Now it’s about finishing strong.
Families make a real difference. The support you provide at home matters. Here are a few simple ways to help your child in the days ahead:
- Make sure they get a good night’s sleep
- Help them arrive at school on time and ready to learn
- Encourage effort and a positive mindset
- Remind them: “You can do this.”
The goal is simple: show up, stay focused, and give your best effort.
I believe in our students. I believe in our staff. And I believe our students are ready for this moment.
