June 2026: Celebration, Reflection, and Gratitude June 2026: Celebration, Reflection, and Gratitude

We have officially entered the final month of the 2025/2026 school year. As such, this will be our final newsletter of the year, including important updates for June, summer, and the upcoming school year. While we begin to look ahead, there is so much to celebrate, especially the many accomplishments of our STARs, both in the classroom and beyond.

As noted below, the last day of school is Monday, June 15th. These final weeks are sure to be bittersweet as we celebrate and wish our eighth graders all the best as they transition to high school. We hope they carry with them the knowledge that they will always have the unwavering support, care, and pride of the North community as they begin this exciting next chapter.

Our sixth and seventh grade students will continue to grow and rise to new expectations as they step into expanded roles next year. Their upcoming summer break is well deserved, though they will certainly be missed, as they bring energy and life to our North campus each day.

While our final calendar is still being finalized, we anticipate the 2026/2027 school year will begin on Wednesday, September 2nd. This will be preceded by our Welcome Back Orientation on Friday, August 28th, from 2:30–5:00 p.m. Please refer to the calendar section below for additional back-to-school dates and events.

We will share summer updates via email and website postings over the coming months as we prepare to welcome our STARs back to campus in late summer. On behalf of the entire North Middle team, thank you for the opportunity to serve your child and family throughout this school year. We are grateful to be part of the North Everett community.

Finally, in case the message earlier this week did not reach you (linked here), North Middle will welcome a new principal this summer. Current principal Tyler Ream will shift to become the principal of nearby Evergreen Middle. Current Assistant Principal Holly Sullivan will become our new North principal for the coming 2026/2027 school year.

Thank you again for your time in reading through this final North News update of the year. On behalf of our entire North team, we wish you a wonderful end to the school year, joyful celebrations, and a refreshing summer ahead. As always, thank you & go North!

With Gratitude,

Holly, Drew, & Tyler

Celebrating PRIDE Across June Celebrating PRIDE Across June

PRIDE Month has arrived and throughout the coming weeks, our school, district, and broader community will come together to recognize and celebrate this meaningful time. PRIDE month is more than a celebration - it is a powerful reminder of the ongoing journey toward equality for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) community. It is a time to stand in solidarity, foster inclusion, and reaffirm our commitment to creating a school environment where every student, family member, and staff member feels safe, valued, and supported.

PRIDE Month also offers an important opportunity to reflect on the history, resilience, and achievements of the LGBTQ+ community. As a school and district committed to inclusion, belonging, and excellence, we strive to nurture learning environments where all individuals are welcomed, respected, and empowered to thrive. While PRIDE is recognized during the month of June, its message and importance extend throughout the entire year.

We invite you to join us in honoring and celebrating LGBTQ+ PRIDE Month this month of June.

Families of Eighth Graders: Please remember our Celebration of Learning event this coming Wednesday, June 10th. This family event is a needed opportunity to come together and celebrate our eighth graders as they move up to become high schoolers next fall.

To honor their journey, students and their families will gather this coming Wednesday, June 10th for a two part evening. First, we will host a ceremony for families at 5:00pm. This will wrap-up around 6:00pm and after time with families, pictures, etc., our eighth graders will transition to their dance/party, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Please note details for each below.

Ceremony (5:00pm to 6:00pm):

  • Student Attire: We ask that students dress the part for this important event but there are no formal attire requirements.
  • Students need to arrive by 4:30pm and will check-in/gather in the Commons.
  • Families will proceed to the main gym via the north gate/entrance near our turf field. (Doors open at 4:30pm for seating)
  • We will seat as many as we can in our gym bleachers and floor seating.
  • To ensure room for families, students will be seated in the Commons for the start of the ceremony. They will view opening speeches via video before proceeding to the gym for their names/recognition.
  • Roses and Candy Leis will be avaliable for purchase. Proceeds support our Technology Student Association and our North PTA.
  • Professional pictures will be taken of each student as they cross the stage. These images are complimentary and will be available for student pick-up on the following Friday.
  • After the ceremony, students will meet their families outside as we turnaround the gym for the party.

    8th Grade Party (6:00pm to 8:00pm):

    • The party portion of our Celebration of Learning event is for students only, staffed by chaperones and North team members. Guests, including sixth and seventh grade students, are not invited (sorry).
    • Our 8th Grade Party will include a DJ/dancing, games, activities, and food. All items are complimentary as no additional items/food will be avaliable for purchase.
    • If students leave the party/event, they will not be readmitted.
    • Please make plans for how your child will be picked up at 8:00pm.

As we approach the end of the school year, our library is getting ready to wrap things up and we need your help. Over these next three weeks, students/families will receive automatic weekly emails from our Library System. These messages will list the books your student currently has checked out, along with cover images to help you and your student locate any missing items. This is a great time to check bookshelves, backpacks, and even under beds.

Important Check-In Dates: All library books are due back by this Friday, June 5th. The last day to turn in books before a fine is assigned is next Friday, June 13th.

Lost a Book? Here Are Your Options:

    • How to replace the book: You may purchase the same title and send it in with a note that includes your student’s name, student number, and teacher’s name.
    • How to pay a fine: To pay a fine, please use the DISTRICT PAYMENT PORTAL and log in with your student’s district credentials to pay the replacement fee. Please pay all fines by June 13th.

Need Help with Fines? If your family is unable to pay for lost books, you can submit a FINE WAIVER APPLICATION to our school office. Please turn in all waiver forms by Friday, June 12th.

Thank you for your continued support in helping us maintain a well-stocked and accessible library for all students. If you have any questions or need assistance, feel free to reach out.
