Administrative Professional Appreciation Week
This week was dedicated to recognizing and applauding the brilliant work of our Administrative Professional team at BHS. While organization is key to their success, their flexibility and ability to handle the unexpected make them valuable to our school.
We'd like to thank Irene Monti, Georgina Merino, Sara Van Roe, Monica Walker, Michele Ramirez, Jackie Johnson, Tammy Degrood, Emily Drzewicki, Renee Riddle, Todd Stevens, Kathy Gibbons, Kristi Jean and Cheri Schrant for all that they do for Battlefield!
Beautification/Earth Day
In honor of Earth Day and to celebrate the Battlefield’s 20th anniversary, we had the opportunity to plant some new trees and bushes around the Battlefield campus this past Saturday. We are so grateful for the donations and for the students, parents, and staff that came out to help.
SOLs Continue Next Week
Each day will begin with a reduced Advisory block (8th pd) to allow students to get settled, ask questions, housekeeping items, etc...
Following Advisory, students will transition to the next block which will be the main SOL Testing Period assigned for that day. This will be an extended block. Any student that is required to take an SOL for the class during that period will be scheduled to test.
Ex: A student in Mr. Smith's 1st block class will take SOL test on April 24th - refer to schedule.

DUE MAY 1: Publish Your Research Paper in the First-Ever Battlefield Science Journal!
Are you interested in an exciting opportunity to build your academic credentials, showcase your efforts, and advance the field of biology? If so, consider submitting your scientific research papers to Battlefield Science! The BHS Biology Olympiad team is currently working alongside Mr. Schwebach and Mrs. Blaine to publish the first high-impact science journal at Battlefield High School. Any individuals that are interested in having their work featured in the publication should contact Yashvir Sabharwal at SabharY25@pwcs-edu.org or go to this Microsoft Form.
By publishing your research paper, you can greatly enhance your college resume. It also allows you to share your research with a wider audience, potentially leading to further advancements in your field. This is a wonderful opportunity to demonstrate the real-life applications of your work!

Hey Bobcats - how well do you think you know Battlefield faculty? The library staff aren't the only ones who love reading...so put your brains to work and see if you can identify who else does, too! Battlefield Bands 2nd Annual Car Show
The Battlefield Bands proudly presents their 2nd Annual Car Show. The Car Show will be held on Saturday, May 4th from 2 - 6pm at Battlefield High School. This event is free for spectators.
If you have a snazzy car that you would like to be a part of the Car Show, register using the QR code.
Day of Event registration: 1:00 P.M. - 2:00 P.M at BHS.
There will be awards for Best in Show, Best Custom, Best Street Rod, Best Truck, Best Restoration

SNHS Presents: CATWORTS!
SNHS presents Catworts, a science event for elementary schoolers modeled after Harry Potter. Students participate in a morning of hands-on science events led by the SNHS members.
The event will take place on Saturday, May 18 from 8AM-12:30PM at Battlefield HS.

OUR YOUNG WIZARDS WILL LEARN ABOUT BIOLOGY, CHEMISTRY, EARTH SCIENCE, AND PHYSICS THROUGH HANDS-ON LEARNING EXPERIENCES. WE ONLY ACCEPT 100 PARTICIPANTS INTO CATWORTS. This is FREE for all seniors. Please submit only 1 picture or collage per student.
The Senior Grad Party committee would also like to recognize seniors joining the military or ROTC programs in college. Submit a free shout-out with name, branch, and photo.

Nominations for the Battlefield High PTO Officer Positions for the 2024-2025 School Year
Dear Battlefield Parents, We are inviting nominations for the Battlefield High PTO officer positions for the 2024-2025 School Year. We are seeking enthusiastic people with solid leadership and strategic planning abilities who can work well with others and are committed to the Battlefield High School in achieving the Battlefield High School PTO vision.
We will also have various committee roles that will be appointed by the BHS PTO governing body, after the nominated officers have been voted in. Please submit your nominations for the board offices or your interest in volunteering for a committee to bhsptopresident@gmail.com. Be sure to include your child’s name and grade at Battlefield. We will vote on the nominees during our May 21, 2024 Meeting. We are excited for a great school year.
