Dear Stewart Elementary Community,

Welcome to the 2026-2027 School Year! We are so excited to have you with us for another great year.

Our theme for the 2026–2027 school year is "Make it Matter." This theme reminds us that every choice, every act of kindness, every lesson, and every opportunity to learn has the power to make a difference. Whether we are encouraging a classmate, tackling a challenging assignment, or serving our community, we want every student to understand that what they do matters and that they have the ability to positively impact the world around them.

Please welcome Lydia Jones, 4th Grade Immersion English; Sydney Tittle, Speech Language Pathologist; Cassidy Wiser, Counselor; Yiping Chen, Chinese TA; Jaxon Vincent, Behavior Support Personnel; Rachel St. Onge, 3/4 POD PLL; and Jen Gaerte, Office Manager.

Join us on Wednesday August 12 from 11-12 out front of the school to enjoy Popsicles and say hi to your friends.

Kindergarten Screening Appointments

Hello Kindergarten Families!

We are so excited to have you joining us as Stars this year. It is such an exciting time in life. This year we will have Ni Kichman and Lisa Nielsen as our kindergarten teachers. We would like to share some important information with you.

All Kindergarten students will temporarily see Staff 1 or Staff 2 listed as their teacher in myDSD. This allows you to schedule a screening appointment for your child.
Screenings will be held by appointment only on Monday, August 10 and Tuesday, August 11. The appointment scheduler will be open on myDsd Please sign in - myDSD from July 31 – August 7. If you need help creating a myDSD account please click here. myDSDGuardianAccount1.pdf
Each 20-minute time slot will include 2 students, so please plan to be at the school for approximately 30 minutes.
Students will be assigned a kindergarten teacher by 1 pm on August 14 so that you know which teacher to visit at Back to School Night, August 18.
The first day of Kindergarten will be Thursday, August 20 along with all of the other students. The first day will follow the Friday early dismissal schedule. On Friday, August 21, all students will follow the regular Friday early dismissal schedule.

If you have any questions please reach out to Ms. Yoho or the main office. We look forward to seeing you all on Monday August 10 and Tuesday August 11.

PTA Budget and General Meeting:

On August 18 at 6:30pm the PTA will host a general meeting in the cafeteria. Please review the budget attached so that it can be voted on during the general meeting. All parents/guardians are invited and encouraged to attend.

IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A BACKGROUND CHECK YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO HELP IN THE CLASSROOM OR ON FIELD TRIPS. All adults planning to attend field trips or volunteer in the classroom are required to sign the Volunteer Agreement (electronic document on myDSD) and to complete a background check with Davis School District. Way to go, Stewart Stars! A huge THANK YOU to our amazing Stewart families and students for donating pull tabs to the Ronald McDonald House. Ms Yoho had the opportunity to deliver your generous donation, and they were so grateful for your support!

The pull tabs are recycled, and the recycling company matches the donation to help provide meals and other support for families staying at the Ronald McDonald House during difficult times. This kindness truly makes a difference.

Now let’s set a new goal… Can we fill TWO tubs this year? Keep those pull tabs coming, Stewart Stars! Together, we can Make It Matter!
