Warrior Families,
Welcome to another exciting school year! On behalf of our entire staff, I am thrilled to welcome both returning and new students and families to the 2026-2027 school year.
As we begin a new year together, our focus remains on creating a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment where every student can thrive. We are committed to building strong relationships, providing high-quality instruction, and helping every child grow academically, socially, and emotionally.
The first few weeks of school are an important time for establishing routines, building friendships, and setting goals for a successful year. We encourage families to partner with us by maintaining regular attendance, staying connected with teachers, and celebrating your child's accomplishments along the way.
This year, we will continue emphasizing our district expectations:
- Respect Self
- Respect Others
- Respect the Environment
These simple expectations help create a positive school culture where everyone feels welcomed, valued, and ready to learn. A reminder that the new state law is now in effect regarding student cell phones and other personal electronics. Students are not allowed to have cell phones during the school day 7:40 am - 3:26 pm.
Thank you for trusting us with your children each day. We are grateful for the continued support of our families and community. Together, we can make this a year filled with learning, growth, and memorable experiences for every student.
We look forward to seeing our hallways filled with smiling faces and wish all of our students an outstanding start to the new school year!
Warrior Reminders:
Please make sure your child arrives to school on time each day. Student drop off and breakfast begins at 7:40 AM. Students need to be in their classrooms no later than 8:10 am.
Attendance matters. If your child is absent, please contact the school explaining the reason for their absence. Regular attendance is critical to student success. We understand that illness and family emergencies happen, but we ask that families make every effort to schedule appointments and vacations outside of school hours. Consistent attendance is one of the keys to academic success.
Go Warriors!
Sincerely,
Ben Fieck
Principal

STATE LAW: A COPY OF A BIRTH CERTIFICATE NEEDS TO BE IN THE SCHOOL OFFICE
Attention Parents:
If you have not already done so, please bring in your child's birth certificate. Tiffany Bauman/LDF Registrar needs a copy of every child's birth certificate in the school office. It is important to know that not having the birth certificate in your child's file, could affect their registration to school in the fall and also may create extra confusion when getting school clothes via the Economic Support Program. Any questions, please direct them to the school 715.588.3838 ext. 197.
Thank you.
Students can get their teeth cleaned at school during the day by the mobile Bridging Brighter Smiles Program. Families can sign up their children at NO COST FOR SERVICES to have their teeth cleaned, dental sealants, fluoride varnish, and several more preventative dental services. Please see the enrollment form. Bridgingbrightersmiles.org/forms Still have questions, please call 262.896.9891.

Helping Your Child Receive the Full Benefit of Their Education-Facts from the Attendance Office
An absence is any time your child misses any portion of the school day after the start of school (8:10 AM) and before the scheduled end of school (3:25 PM).
Absences are further broken down as excused and unexcused.
All excused absences require communication with school. Any absence lacking communication remains unexcused until such time as information is provided to the school. For an absence to be excused, we need communication from you (email, phone call, written note). It is never too late to communicate for a past absence. Remember, good attendance is more than simply complying with laws; rather, it is truly a matter of providing our children with more and better opportunities to learn!

Cultural Connections Updates
7 Grandfather Teachings --
The traditional concepts of respect and sharing that form the foundation of the Native American way of life are built around the seven natural laws, or sacred teachings. Each teaching honors one of the basic virtues intrinsic to a full and healthy life.
Each law is embodied by an animal to underscore the point that all actions and decisions made by man are manifest on a physical plain. The animal world taught man how to live close to the earth, and the connection that has been established between the animal world and that of man has instilled a respect for all life in those who follow the traditional way.
- The Eagle teaches us LOVE. Love must be unconditional.
- The Buffalo teaches us RESPECT. Respect is the condition of being honored.
- The Bear teaches us COURAGE. Courage is the ability to face danger, fear, or changes with confidence and bravery.
- The Butterfly teaches us HONESTY.
- The Beaver teaches us WISDOM. Wisdom is the ability to make decisions based on personal knowledge and experience.
- The Wolf teaches us HUMILITY. Humility is being humble and not arrogant.
- The Turtle teaches us TRUTH. Truth is to know and understand all the seven teachings have given to us by the Creator and to remain faithful to them.
