Message from Principal Fredette and AP Dolan

Safety Drills

At the beginning of the year we practice our various safety drills. This week we conducted a hold in place drill and bus evacuations. A hold in place is utilized if we had something happen, such as someone needing medical attention, in the hallway or school location. All teaching and learning can continue in classrooms but hallways or the particular location is restricted. We also had bus evacuations this week. Several of our 4th graders earned roars for being amazing helpers.

Long Evacuation Drill

On Wednesday next week, we will be conducting our long evacuation drill. This evacuation is utilized if we had to evacuate further than the 300 yards distance from the building than our shorter fire drill. Our evacuation destination also serves a rally point for our ALICE drill. The drill on Wednesday is not an ALICE drill, but rather a way to instruct students of this location.

Byam School Council

We are looking for volunteers that would be interested in being a part of our Byam School Council. School councils are made up of staff, family and community members who work to plan goals and strategies to guide the school's work. The meetings are one evening a month. If you are interested in joining or would like more information please contact Mr. Fredette at fredettej@chelmsford.k12.ma.us.

SEPAC Meeting Information

SEPAC is a collaboration of volunteer parent leaders and school district administrators to build effective parent-school partnerships to support family engagement. The meeting is open to all parents of children with disabilities and other interested parties.

Please encourage families to attend to learn more about how SEPAC can support them. If any parent wants more information or has questions encourage them to reach out to me.

Byam School Picture Day

Our school picture day will be on Wednesday, October 12. Geskus is the company who will be doing the Chelmsford pictures this year. Please review the Picture Day flyer that went home for ordering details.

The Boo Bash is coming to Byam ~ October 22nd, 4-7pm!
