Five Good Things in Spring

The halls at Roberson Middle School were filled with sprinkles, smiles, and serious school spirit during their back-to-school ice cream party! Students and staff kicked off the new year the coolest way possible which is celebrating together with scoops of fun, laughter, and sweet memories. Whether you were rocking your favorite toppings or just chillin’ with friends, this event was the perfect treat to beat the back-to-school heat. Here’s to a year as smooth and sweet as that ice cream! 💚

Talk about a powerful partnership! Thanks to the big hearts of Cheryl Courtright and Dakota Weible—assistant store leaders at Kroger stores #136 and #130—Salyers Elementary School just got a major community boost! More than 50 school supply kits and a couple dozen hunger bags were donated to students in need, all through Kroger’s generous customer-supported programs. Cheryl, whose husband Michael Goedecke teaches 4th grade science at Salyers, helped coordinate the effort, showing just how strong the school-family connection can be. Huge kudos to Kroger, their amazing customers, and our school counselors for turning kindness into action. This is what real support looks like! 👏

Whistles are blowin’, cleats are stompin’, and yep—someone already forgot their water bottle. That can only mean one thing: football practice is officially underway in Spring ISD! Westfield, Spring, and Dekaney squads are out there sweating and grinding during conditioning—but it’s all for the love of the game. Coaches are hyped, players are dialed in, and the countdown to Friday night lights has officially begun. Let’s get loud this season, y’all—it’s gonna be a wild ride! 🙌

Ponderosa Elementary School didn’t just start the school year—they launched it with a pep rally packed with energy, excitement, and enough school spirit to power the whole campus! From cheers that shook the gym to smiling faces and dancing feet, students and staff came together to celebrate a fresh start and set the tone for an amazing year ahead. If this rally is any sign of what’s coming, Ponderosa is about to have its best year ever! 💥

Let’s hear it for Burchett Elementary’s own Khanh Nguyen—officially one of America’s brightest young mathematicians! Khanh has been named a National Math Star, joining an elite group of just 50 students across the country selected for this prestigious honor. What does that mean? Oh, just 10 years of fully funded math mentorship, advanced coursework, summer STEM camps, and enough enrichment opportunities to make any number nerd do a happy dance—valued at over $100,000! 📚💡 Staff and classmates at Burchett are buzzing with pride, and honestly, so are we. Way to go, Khanh—you’re multiplying excellence and subtracting all doubt that the future is very bright!
