National Child Safety Council is approached by various organizations, public relations firms, and corporations to enlist its help in spreading the message of child safety, many times, utilizing the Council's Safety pup mascot character and child safety messages in national programs. Some of the recognized and more successful arrangements with organizations can be found here.

The program included:

  • A plastic card featuring Safetypup on which kids can keep important emergency telephone numbers.
  • A parent's book to help teach kids telephone safety rules.

The Morgan Nick Foundation

On the evening of June 9, 1995, six-year-old Morgan Nick was kidnapped while playing with friends just yards away from her mother during a little league game in Alma, Arkansas. A massive investigation ensued, and continues, but Morgan Nick remains missing.

After Morgan’s kidnapping it became apparent there was a need for an organization which could provide immediate assistance to the families of missing children.

Colleen Nick, Morgan’s mother, realized this need and determined to fight for Morgan and for the hundreds of children that go missing each year; and in 1996, The Morgan Nick Foundation was launched.

The Morgan Nick Foundation (MNF) provides a support network to Arkansas parents and families of missing children and adults. The focus of the MNF falls into three categories:

Intervention: provided for families of missing persons
Education: provides FREE safety skills and abduction prevention education to children, parents, teachers and communities.
Legislation: advocating for legislation that protects the rights of children
