Dear Penn Wood Families,

Fall is officially here, and Penn Wood’s Fall FUNdraiser is in full swing! I had the pleasure of spending last Thursday with your students at our Pep Rally, and it was our best year yet. Thank you to all of our students for their enthusiasm and great listening skills! Besides coming home and asking you to play “Zoo” over and over, I hope your student also told you all about the Fall FUNdraiser and why it’s so important. All proceeds go directly back to Penn Wood, helping fund things like field trips and assemblies, new playground supplies, classroom supplies, and so much more.

The deadline to donate—and have your student win prizes—is next Wednesday, October 7. We are half way to our $22,000 goal. Be sure to check below to see which classes are currently in the lead to win our bear paw trophies. Thank you for your support!

Fall also means the start of our classroom parties! The Classroom Party SignUpGenius, currently locked with an Access Code, will open this Sunday, October 4, at 7 p.m. This is a great opportunity to help plan and host classroom parties throughout the year. See the Classroom Party Sign Up section below for more details.

We’re always looking for a variety of volunteers to help with both big and small projects. Check out our current volunteer opportunities here.

We’re also looking for co-chairs for next year’s Fall FUNdraiser. Don’t worry—you don’t need to know how to dance! The chairs manage the fundraising side of things and the activity can be whatever you’d like. This year we’re dancing; past years have included Field Day-style activities. If you’d like to learn more, email me at jgnittanylion@gmail.com.

Thanks for all your support, Penn Wood!

We are always looking for more volunteers for outdoor lunch duty so that the students can go outside at lunch for some extra fresh air and sunshine. Students will be rotated and can eat outside whenever we have nice weather days as long as there are volunteers to assist. If you have your clearances and you are interested, you can sign up HERE.

If there is inclement (or chilly) weather and lunch will not be held outside, you will be notified by Kelly Nolan. You can also reach out to her with any questions at kellypurvis@gmail.com or via phone or text at 215-620-6135. You will receive an email from Kelly Nolan with instructions once you sign up for Outdoor Lunch.

The Penn Wood Bears Spirit Wear Store is open now, and for a limited time Penn Wood families can enjoy 20% OFF with code SPIRIT20.
