Principal's Message
On Monday, September 21, in the afternoon, we will be conducting a Lockdown Drill on campus. Students will hear an announcement clearly stating that the lockdown is ONLY A DRILL.
These drills are an important part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining a safe and secure school environment. Practicing our emergency procedures helps students and staff understand what to do, where to go, and how to respond calmly and appropriately should a real emergency ever occur on or around our campus.
While we hope these procedures are never needed in an actual emergency, regular practice allows us to identify areas for improvement and ensures that everyone is better prepared to respond quickly and safely if the need arises.
We appreciate your support as we work together to ensure the safety and well-being of our students and staff.
This week is our last week before October break. Students will have finals for periods 1 and 2 on Thursday, the 24th. Finals for periods 3 and 4 will be on Friday, the 25th. School will dismiss at 12:45 on both of those days, and lunch service will be available until 1:15.
During the Fall break, our office will be closed to the public. It will reopen when school resumes on Monday, October 12.
We have our second Home Football Game on Friday, the 25th. Please come cheer on our teams as they take on Tokay High School at 5:00 and 7:00.
Have a wonderful week!
Mrs. Nicole Vertar, M. Ed.
Principal

Science Olympiad
We are excited to launch Science Olympiad this year and begin building a dynamic student team ready to take on creative STEM challenges.
Do you think you can build the strongest bridge, launch the farthest rocket, or solve the fastest mystery?
Science Olympiad turns science into an adventure. Students will design, build, experiment, and compete in events spanning biology, chemistry, engineering, earth science, and more. No prior experience is needed; just curiosity, teamwork, and a willingness to try something new.
If your child is interested in joining the team, please reach out to Mrs. Brar at rbrar@lodiusd.net. A parent informational meeting will follow, where families will be briefed on events, expectations, and opportunities for student participation.
We look forward to having your child on our team!

Be Present: Cell Phone Policy Reminder
Phones down, heads up. Creating connections in the classroom.
As we settle back into the routines of school, please help us remind your children that their phones should be put away during school. During school hours, campuses are a "no phone zone" and students will be expected to keep their phones off and put away.
This initiative is designed to support a more focused learning environment while encouraging real, in-person connection outside of the digital world. For more information and answers to frequently asked questions, please visit www.lodiusd.net/be-present.
