Finishing Strong: A Focus on Progress, Support, and Pack Success! Finishing Strong: A Focus on Progress, Support, and Pack Success!

Dear Wolfpack Families,

As we move into the spring season, we find ourselves in an important stretch of the school year—a time that offers both reflection and opportunity. With just a few months remaining, now is the moment for students to take stock of their progress, set goals, and finish the year strong.

We encourage all families to regularly monitor student progress through Infinite Campus and Canvas. Staying informed about grades, assignments, and upcoming assessments allows for timely support and helps students stay on track. If questions or concerns arise, open communication with teachers is key. Our staff is committed to partnering with families and is always willing to provide clarification, feedback, and guidance to support each student’s success.

One of the most valuable resources available to students is our Intervention period. This time is intentionally built into the school day to provide extra help, time to complete assignments, and opportunities to get ahead. We strongly encourage students to use this time wisely—whether that means seeking additional support from a teacher, collaborating with peers, or dedicating focused time to their work. Consistent use of Intervention can make a meaningful difference in both confidence and achievement.

Spring is also a natural time for reflection. We ask students to consider what has gone well this year, where they can improve, and how they want to finish. Small adjustments in habits—such as staying organized, asking for help, and managing time effectively—can have a significant impact as we head toward the end of the year.

Please know that our staff is here to support every student along the way. We are proud of the effort our students have shown and remain committed to helping them reach their goals. When we work together—students, families, and staff—we are always more successful as a Pack.

Let’s finish the year strong, together.

AP/IB Testing Proctors Needed AP/IB Testing Proctors Needed

We will need your help to proctor more than 2,600 AP exams and over 500 IB exams in May. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide any graduations tickets as we have in years past.

Below, you can find the Sign-up genius links to help proctor. Please review the testing schedule to see when you may be available to support our students.

Proctoring is very easy, and we couldn't do it without you. Each test already has a lead proctor, so now we need additional proctors to help monitor students.

We appreciate your time! Your help saves thousands of dollars each year that go back into resources, supplies for students, and teacher training.

Note: You cannot proctor an exam for a test your student is taking, so please check with them before signing up.

CAASPP Testing Science and Math April 2026 CAASPP Testing Science and Math April 2026

Dear Great Oak High School Families of Students in Grade 11,

As we head into the final months of school, the teachers and staff at GOHS are committed to helping each child be the best they can be! One way that we measure if students have learned all that we have taught is through the CAASPP (California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress). Additionally, this assessment provides EAP scores for college placement tests for the California Community Colleges and CSU System. It is also a component of students qualifying for the CA Biliteracy Seal, Multiliteracy Seal and Honors college acceptance.

Science testing begins on Monday, April 6th and continues through Friday, April 10th for all of our 11th grade students. The CAST will be administered by your student’s Science teacher during their regularly scheduled Science class.

Math begins on Monday, April 13th and continues through Friday, April 17th for all of our 11th grade students. GOHS will be on a Rolling Block schedule to allow students sufficient time to complete the assessment and will be administered by your student’s Math teacher during their regularly scheduled Math class.

We ask that during your child’s testing window that you consider the following in helping your child to do their best on the CAASPP:

  1. Bring Technology to School

Each student will need to bring a charged school issued iPAD or chromebook to school each day for testing. They will also need to bring a charging cable as a back-up! Students must also need to bring their PLUG IN headphones.

  1. Get a good night’s sleep

  2. Eat a Good Breakfast

  3. Encourage your Student

  4. Get them Moving

  5. Be at School and Arrive on Time.

We ask that if at all possible students are not pulled out of school for doctor/dentist appointments that would impact their testing time. We appreciate your support in protecting this time for all of the students.

Thank you in advance for your support, we greatly appreciate it!
