Week 5: Growing Together

As we enter Week 5, thank you for your continued support, positivity, and understanding. A strong school community is built when families and staff work together with patience, grace, and a shared commitment to our children.

We are grateful to serve your children and remain committed to creating a safe, joyful, and academically focused learning environment where every student can grow, lead, and thrive. Together, we are rooted in purpose and rising in excellence!

HUGE SHOUT OUT goes to our amazing PTO! Our Dragons were so excited to participate and enjoyed the fun planned for them. Thank you to our winners that raised the most money that earned their teachers and Principal Spain a pie in the face! Kindergartener Kodyn Barber from Mrs. Robbins class raised the most money! Mrs. Robbins' class was the class that raised the most money! Congratulations to our Dragons!

Over $5000 was raised from this fun event. Thank you again PTO! Check out some highlights from the event! More photos can be found on our social media page and we had a profesional photographer that will share a link for those photos.

Eating Lunch with Students:

• Families are welcome to begin joining their child for lunch beginning September 8th. This allows students time to establish classroom routines and become comfortable with daily expectations.If you choose to eat lunch with your child, we ask that the visit be reserved for you and your child only, providing an opportunity to enjoy quality time together during the school day. Your child's teacher will provide classroom schedules and lunch times during the first weeks of school so you can plan your visit.

• Ice Cream sales will begin the week of September 14th.

• Please help students come to school dressed for success each day. Clothing should be school-appropriate, provide adequate coverage, and allow students to participate safely and comfortably in learning and physical activities. Shoes should also be appropriate for school activities. Thank you for helping us maintain a safe, positive, and distraction-free learning environment.

Our current 5th-grade Student Lighthouse Team has been working hard to prepare for interviews for the 2026–2027 Student Lighthouse Team!

They have been preparing questions and getting ready to welcome our new Student Lighthouse members.

Interviews will be Friday, September 9th. We will be adding about 8 new member this year.

We are excited to see our student leaders take on this important leadership opportunity!

Reserve The Dragon Stone for one magical week (Saturday–Friday) and let your creativity shine! A $25 reservation fee is required and payment is due at the time of sign-up. Reservations without payment will be released so another dragon keeper can claim the stone. The reservation is rain or shine and is nonrefundable.

Money can be sent via PayPal to "Oakdale PTO". PayPal is the requested payment method as it limits cash interactions with the school. If you would like to reserve the stone and cannot pay via PayPal please reach out to the PTO at oakdalepto1@gmail.com.
