Mustang Mission
Mission: At Meyer, we are committed to creating a safe, inclusive environment where ALL thrive through meaningful, rigorous learning. Through intentional collaboration and research-based practices, we prepare students to lead with, confidence, purpose, and integrity.
Welcome Back, Meyer Mustangs!
Dear Meyer Elementary Students and Families,
We are excited to welcome both returning and new Mustangs to another year of learning, growth, and success!
At Meyer Elementary, we believe every child can learn, lead, and achieve. This year, our theme, "Mustangs Leading the Way: Learning, Leading, and Achieving," reminds us that every scholar has the potential to make a positive difference through learning, leadership, and perseverance.
As we embrace The Meyer Lemonade Effect: Turning Growth Into Greatness, we will encourage our scholars to turn challenges into opportunities for growth. Together, with the support of our dedicated staff and families, we will continue building a school where every child is inspired to succeed.
Our work will be guided by our commitment to service, relationships, and results as we provide meaningful learning experiences in a safe, supportive, and engaging environment.
Students can look forward to:
- Engaging and meaningful learning experiences
- Opportunities to develop leadership skills
- A safe and supportive learning environment
- Celebrations of academic growth and achievement
Parents and guardians are our valued partners in education, and we encourage you to stay connected, communicate with teachers, and participate in school events throughout the year.
We look forward to welcoming our Meyer families at Meet the Teacher on Monday, August 10, 2026, from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. We can't wait to kick off an incredible school year together!

ID Badges
Every student is required to wear an ID badge daily. This is a district mandated policy. The badges will be provided to scholars during their first week. They must be kept on at all times, so please start informing your child of this now. These same badges will be used to enter and exit the bus daily.
School Hours & Daily Schedule
Doors open at 7:35 AM with instruction beginning promptly at 8:05 AM
Dismissal is at 3:25 PM
Building Operations
Our campus opens daily at 7:35 AM. For safety reasons, students may not be dropped off or exit their vehicles before this time. Please help us keep everyone safe by ensuring students are supervised until the building opens.
Students needing to leave early must be picked up before 2:45 P.M. Please bring your photo ID to the front office for early dismissal. For safety reasons, no early pickups will be allowed after 2:45 P.M.
Morning Drop-Off and Afternoon Pick-up
The safety of our students is of the utmost importance to all teachers and staff members at Meyer Elementary. Please read the drop-off and pick-up procedures listed below. In order to ensure our student’s safety, it is critical that we all work together to follow the guidelines listed below. When dropping off or picking up your child, please make sure that you are mindful of no parking areas and designated walker areas.
- The morning and afternoon drop off/ pick-up area for car riders is located at the side of Meyer Elementary. All car rider traffic must go through the car rider line. You will be issued a Meyer Elementary car rider sign, at Meet the Teacher, to place in your window. Please ensure you have this sign daily for pickup. If someone other than the normal pickup person needs to pick up your child, please DO NOT give them your car rider tag. For student safety, they will need to come to the front office and verify they have permission to pick up the child.
- Students MAY NOT be dropped off before 7:35am. Students MUST remain in the car until the doors open at 7:35 a.m. If you need to drop your student off before 7:35 a.m., Koala Kare is available in the morning.
- During afternoon pickup, do not get out of your vehicle as you are waiting in the car rider line. This causes traffic to become congested in the line and it is not safe for students. Please remember scholars will be brought to the front office between 3:45 and 3:50. Parents, you will then be expected to come to the front office with your car rider tag or your I.D. ALL STUDENTS MUST BE PICKED UP BY 4:00 p.m.
- SISD buses and Licensed Day Care buses will load and unload students in the parking lot and the front of the building. Cars may not drop off or pick up students in this area.
- Walkers - Parents will need to come to the side of the building, by the cafeteria, for walkers. Parents may wait for their children on the sidewalk and escort them home or they may travel with their older sibling. Parents will have to present walker tags with their child’s name on it for a scholar to be released. If you come to pick up your child without a tag, you will have to present your identification at the front office. Walker tags will be provided at Meet-the Teacher.
- Parents of Pre-K and Kindergarten scholars must have a code to receive your child from the bus. This code will be given to you by your child’s homeroom teacher. The code is the last 5 digits of your student's ID number. The bus drivers will not release your child without the proper number being given. If an older sibling will be taking the child from the bus, make sure they know the code.

Please ensure your child has a complete change of clothes in their backpack each day. Having an extra set of clothing available helps us quickly and comfortably address any unexpected spills or accidents.
