English
Another wonderful week in first grade! Our class enjoyed our first Spanish Heritage Month mystery reader, Danny Holcomb’s dad. The students enjoyed the book, Celebrate the Day of the Dead by Diane de Anda. We thank Mr. Holcomb for reading and also donating this book to our classroom library. Please make certain you are reading with your child each night for at least 20 minutes. They should be sitting next to you reading out loud to you. Don’t forget the International Fest that takes place this Saturday from 12-4 PM at Charles McDaneil Park. Ms. Hartness wishes she could go but will be out of town. Ms. Vicky will be attending so find her and give her a hug! We hope you have a lovely weekend,
Ms. Hartness & Ms. Vicky

School Uniform
There seems to be a misconception that Fridays are an “out of uniform” day. To clear up any confusion, Fridays are designated as Spirit Wear days when students are allowed to wear a GLOBE t-shirt. Jeans are also permitted on Fridays only, but must be accompanied by a GLOBE t-shirt. CLICK HERE for more details regarding our uniform policy.
International Fest
Come out and celebrate our diverse community, cultures from around the world and more at the GLOBE International Festival this Saturday, September 21, 2024, 12-4pm. Bring a chair, a blanket and get ready to have some fun. There will be a community potluck, vendors, food trucks, performances, games and more. We still need volunteers. Sign-up here.
