VR in the Algebra Classroom

Mrs. Kasten's Algebra classes have been using virtual reality headsets to explore linear functions, systems of linear functions, and soon exponential functions in virtually a real world setting. These headsets were purchased through a grant and with the help of Montgomery County ESC. Mrs. Kasten's classes are also partaking in an educational study that hopes to further the development of these and future lessons to bring the virtual reality world into more math classrooms in the future!

Construction Career Days

Registration for Construction Career Days is open! The 21st annual Construction Career Days will take place at the Butler County Fairgrounds on May 2nd – 3rd. There will be a cap to the number of students each day so be sure to register as soon as possible.

Last May, middle and high school students traveled as far as 78 miles from 35 Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana school districts to attend the 20th Construction Career Days. Over 2100 students connected with 60 exhibitors to explore various trades in the construction industry.

Construction Career Days is a great opportunity for students to:

  • Interact with industry professionals.
  • Attend in informational breakout sessions.
  • Explore construction hands-on.
  • Learn about construction career options.

In addition, there will be the Hiring Booth where students 15+ can take part in mock interviews and learn about their employability; perfect for students considering a Summer, part-time, co-op, or full-time job.

TO REGISTER: Follow the Construction Career Days on May 1-3, 2023 link.
