    Preschool and Kindergarten Wait Lists

Our preschool class for the 2026-2027 school year is already full! If you currently have children enrolled with us and would like to add siblings to the waitlist, please call as soon as possible.

Remember, we also keep waitlists for future years—so as long as your child has already been born, we’re happy to add them to the list!

    🎯 Goal-Setting Conferences at MPS

We’re doing something new this year—and we couldn’t be more excited!

Students will be leading their own parent/teacher conferences!
They will share their performance levels in math and reading, as well as their personalized goal to improve academics. Over the past year, our students have been practicing goal setting, and now they get to share their progress with the people who matter most—their families. (scroll down to see the school's goal!)

    Rewards for Student Effort:

    🍿 Individual Reward:
Every student who attends conferences and shares their goal will receive a bag of popcorn on Friday, October 10.

    🏫 Classroom Reward:
Classes that reach a 70% attendance rate (adult attendance counts, not just students) will earn a movie day or extra recess. Teachers and students will choose the reward together.

    🎉 Grand Prize:
The class with the highest in-person goal-setting attendance rate in grades PK–6 will win a FIELD TRIP! Students will even get to vote on the destination with me.

📊 Why Goal Setting & Family Involvement Matter

📊 Why Goal Setting & Family Involvement Matter

    • Students who set goals achieve more. Research shows goal setting helps kids stay focused, take ownership of their learning, and improve achievement.

    • Family involvement is key. Studies over 50 years show students do better in school—higher grades, better attendance, and stronger motivation—when families are engaged.

    • It works for everyone. The positive impact of family involvement holds true across all backgrounds, income levels, and grade levels.

🌟 5 Simple Ways Parents Can Stay Engaged in Student Learning

Ask daily questions – “What goal are you working on?” or “What was the best part of your day?”

Celebrate small wins – Praise effort and progress, not just grades.

Create routines – Set aside regular time for reading, homework, or goal check-ins.

Stay connected – Attend school events, conferences, or send a quick note to the teacher.

Model goal setting – Share your own goals (big or small) so your child sees it in action.

    Family Involvement/ Attendance Solution Team

To support our focus goal of increasing family and student participation in conferences, we are setting measurable targets: 70% attendance at the elementary level and 20% attendance at the high school level. To help us achieve these goals, we are implementing goal-setting conferences designed to strengthen student engagement in their learning and foster meaningful family involvement. By partnering students, families, and staff members in conversations about academic progress and behavior, we aim to build stronger connections that encourage accountability, support student success, and promote a collaborative school culture.
