Also, 8th grade parents, kindly make sure that you have read the letter that was emailed to you regarding graduation. The letter contains vital information and can answer commonly asked questions. A copy of the letter can be found in this newsletter.
The students see the finish line and the energy level accelerates. I kindly ask for your partnership in reinforcing that our children stay focused on their daily routines, follow the rules, and remember that kindness and manners are an integral part of ending the school year on a positive note.
Sincerely,
EL

The term “Luggage for Love” refers to charity drives that collect and donate luggage, duffel bags, or suitcases filled with essential items to children in foster care or in crisis. This idea comes from the reality that many children entering foster care must transport all their belongings in plastic garbage bags, which can be demeaning and destabilizing. Providing real luggage instead helps give dignity, comfort, and a sense that they matter. Our goal is for the students at WIS to collect items that can go into these bags and use 2/18 and 2/26 to pack the bags in their Wellness Wednesday homeroom. Finally, we are looking to have selected students (knighted or students of the MPs) to take these items to the outreach building in Bradley Beach to meet with St. James Episcopal Church and CASA representatives who have started the Luggage for Love initiative and will receive our donation for foster children served by CASA of Monmouth and Ocean County at the end of February.

WTPS Appoints Dr. David Bleakley as New Superintendent of Schools
As you are aware, Dr. Handerhan announced back in the fall that she will be retiring at the end of this school year. Since then, the Wall Township Board of Education has been actively engaged in the search for a new Superintendent of Schools. At last night’s Board of Education Meeting, the Board of Education appointed Dr. David Bleakley as the next WTPS Superintendent of Schools, effective July 1, 2026. Dr. Bleakley brings with him over 20 years of educational experience, and the Board of Education is thrilled to welcome him to the District.
