Henry Happenings

Principal Message
As we move into the season of fall, I’m reminded of how much this change mirrors what happens in our school. Just as the trees transform with color, our students are settling into routines, deepening their learning, and growing in confidence each day.
Fall is a season of steady, beautiful change, and it’s a joy to watch our students blossom in new ways. I encourage you to pause and celebrate the progress your child is making—it’s these small steps that build into something truly wonderful.

Staff Bulldog Brag
Did you know that families can recognize staff members with Bulldog Brags, just like we do for students? If you or your child notice a staff member demonstrating one of our Henry Core Values—Kind, Responsible, Persevere, or Inclusive—we invite you to share it using the button below.
Each staff member who receives a Bulldog Brag will be honored with a certificate and a special surprise. As part of our character education, it is important for students to see adults modeling these values every day—and to hear real examples of what they look like in action!
*4th/5th grade parents: The Mark Twain Challenge has begun! This is an optional program for 4th and 5th grade students. Information came home on Friday, 9/12 in your child's Friday Folder. Please check out the Henry Website for more information!
*Check out our Henry Library page for information on Sora, Novel Effect, and other fun activities you can do at home!
*Is your child forgetting to return their library books? Here's a tip: Set an alarm on your phone for the morning of your child's library day. This will remind you (and them) to grab your books to return!
Nurse Update
Dental Safari is coming to Henry Elementary on October 14. Forms were sent home this week to sign your student(s) up for a dental cleaning and sealants if needed. If you prefer to complete this online, please use the link below. This is a convenient way to see the dentist right here at school and promote good oral hygiene at an early age. Please contact me if you have any questions. Forms should be returned to Nurse Baker as soon as possible.

Stock the Lounge
**ATTENTION 4TH GRADE PARENTS!** We need your help to stock the lounge for our dedicated teachers, staff, and administration this September. Please visit the Sign Up Genius link to contribute and drop off your items at the school office by October 10th. Your generosity will help keep our amazing school team energized and appreciated.
Culver's Restuarant Night Volunteers
We have a Culver's "Share Night" (restaurant night) on Tuesday, October 14th. As part of Culver's “Share Night,” they require that we have 1 adult volunteer and 4 youth volunteers per hour for the duration of the event (or we could have 2 adults and 3 youth or 3 adults and 2 youth or 4 adults). As a volunteer, you will receive a Culver's apron and nametag, and then be responsible for delivering food to customers. (You will wash your hands and will need to continue to wash hands during your shift.) We recommend the youth volunteers be in grades 2-5 as they will be walking outside to deliver food to customers and will need to be able to find the correct car and number. If you have a student who is younger and wants to sign up, you can do that but you need to plan to stay and assist the student as well (even if the 1 adult volunteer is signed up for the hour). **PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT IF YOU SIGN UP THAT YOU KNOW FOR CERTAINTY YOU CAN ATTEND. Culver's is counting on the volunteers and it will be difficult to replace on short notice.**
Please sign up on the link below. Signups are on a first come, first serve basis.

Dear Henry Community Members,
We sincerely appreciate your participation and support during our inaugural Bulldog Dash Fundraiser in partnership with Booster.
Our goal was to raise $20,000 to help purchase 13 new cafeteria tables, totalling $26,115. Thanks to your generosity and the Booster fundraising format, we exceeded our goal in just 2 weeks - raising $23,719.34, with additional corporate matches still pending!
To celebrate the close of our fundraising efforts, we hosted the Bulldog Dash Fun Run on Friday, September 5 during the school day. All students participated in this lively event, running themed laps to music with their grade level. As a reward for reaching our goal, each classroom is enjoying an extra 15-minute recess for one week, which began last Thursday.
At our first general PTO meeting last Monday, the purchase of the cafeteria tables was officially approved. Dr. Oliver has submitted the paperwork and placed the order. We've been informed the selected tables are in stock and are expected to arrive before Thanksgiving break!
This achievement would not have been possible without the incredible support and generosity of our community. To help us improve future fundraising efforts, we kindly ask you to complete a brief survey using the link below. The survey will remain open through 10/1.
Thank you again for your continued support!
