Thank You NLMS
As we approach Thanksgiving, I find myself reflecting on how much I have to be grateful for during my time here as your interim principal. While this holiday traditionally brings us together around tables filled with food and family, it also offers us a moment to pause and appreciate the community we've built together.
I am deeply thankful to be part of North Lincoln Middle School. Each day, I witness the incredible energy, curiosity, and resilience of our students. They inspire me with their willingness to take on challenges, support one another, and grow not just academically, but as compassionate young people. Watching them navigate the unique journey of middle school—with all its ups and downs—reminds me why education is such meaningful work.
I'm equally grateful for our dedicated staff, who pour their hearts into creating a nurturing and engaging learning environment. Their commitment to knowing each student as an individual and helping them thrive is nothing short of remarkable. Behind every successful student is a team of educators who believe in them.
And to you, our families, thank you. Your partnership, trust, and support make all the difference. Whether you're helping with homework, attending duty free lunch, or simply asking your child about their day, you reinforce the message that education matters. The collaboration between home and school is the foundation upon which our students build their futures.
As we gather with loved ones this Thanksgiving, I encourage all of us—students included—to take a moment to recognize the good in our lives. In a world that often moves too quickly, gratitude grounds us and reminds us of what truly matters: connection, community, and care for one another.
I wish you and your family a warm, restful, and joyful Thanksgiving holiday.
With appreciation and gratitude,
Mrs. Arndt

Attendance Matters!
Why Attendance Matters
Regular attendance is one of the most important factors in a student’s success. When students miss school, they miss valuable instruction, class discussions, and opportunities to build connections with teachers and classmates. Research shows that missing just 10% of the school year—about 18 days—can negatively affect academic performance. That’s only about two days a month, which is considered chronic absence. By sixth grade, chronic absence becomes a leading indicator that a student may drop out of high school. Even a few absences can add up and make it harder to keep up with learning. Consistent attendance builds strong habits that prepare students for success in high school and beyond. Let’s work together to make sure every day counts!
Angel Tree @ NLMS
In order to help some of our NLMS families in need, we have an Angel Tree in our school. Please complete the NLMS Angel Tree Form to add your student to our tree. If you would like to adopt an Angel, please let one of our school counselors or front office staff members know. We ask that all gifts be turned in to the school by Friday, December 13.
