MUMS FUNDRAISER
The 7th and 8th grade classes this year are, once again, selling mums to raise money for their trip to Washington D.C. If you would like to add a POP of color to your fall decorations, be sure to buy mums from your favorite 7th or 8th grader.
Orders due by Friday, September 11. Mums will be delivered the following Friday (September 18).
If you do not know any 7th or 8th grader, you can turn your form and money into the office and Mrs. Timmermann will take care of it. Please make sure you have your name and your child's grade marked on the form so that we know where to deliver!
CLASSROOM VISITS BEGINNING NEXT WEEK
Something New in the Hallways and Classrooms!
Teachers and administrators are constantly "stealing" great ideas and instituting it into their classrooms. Administrators are no different. And, in reflecting about last year, I felt I was stuck in my office so much last year, that I didn't get a chance to be part of the students' day.
This past summer, I saw on Facebook a Principal that had a mobile cart that would go through the halls and drop into classrooms. Why not I do the same? There will be many reasons I come into the classrooms during the year. Yes, I will come to do our formal evaluations. Sometimes, it's to be an extra set of eyes for the teacher. To participate in the instruction or to help out a few students with their learning. But most of the time, it's just an opportunity to be present and witness what great things are happening in our classrooms (and report back to you!)
With the cart I am using, I have attached an erasable white board on the front. Every morning, that I plan on going to classes, I will have that cart in the lobby. Kids are encouraged to write on that whiteboard. BUT WHAT THEY WRITE IS IMPORTANT. They can only write things that recognize the good in others or positive notes. For example:
Happy birthdays
"Great job to ****"
"Thank you to **** for helping me....."
That way, as I am going through the hallways, positivity will be on display!!!
