Head Teacher's Message
As we have had such a festive-filled last week, we thought we squeeze in a bonus newsletter to fully round of the end of term!
Please enjoy the photographs from the events this week - thank you for all of your support this term, it really does make all the difference.
We return on Monday 05 January 2026, with a late start for all year groups - the school gates will open at 09:45 (staff will be in training until that time). Students should head straight into line up in the playground and lessons will start with period 2 at 09:55.
Wishing you a lovely Christmas break and best wishes for a bright and prosperous 2026.

RTS Christmas Card
A wonderful Christmas Card design by Stephanie in Year 10.
Christmas Decorations
Bright lights and sparkles from around the school.
Scratch art Christmas decorations made by students in the library. There are some incredibly creative patterns.
Ms Perera and Ms Matthews have hosted a lovely lunchtime club making Christmas stars and decorations for the school. The students presented Ms Dooley with some for her office.
Christmas Jumper Day
THANK YOU so much - you have already raised nearly £800 for Save The Children by supporting the RTS Christmas Jumper Day. Donations can still be made either be via ParentPay or direct via the RTS JustGiving page.
Christmas Lunch
Our Catering Team absolutely smashed it with Christmas Lunch - freshly preparing and cooking well over 600 meals (and not just feeding RTS, but also Clarendon and Capella schools!). Christmas music was playing across both the Atrium and the Hall so all students could enjoy the festive atmosphere!
Christmas Showcase
The annual RTS Christmas Showcase took place on Thursday 18 December, thank you to all those families who came out in horrendous weather to support the event.
The students worked so hard on their performances and they were all wonderful.
Thanks to FoRTS for their support in providing refreshments.

Turtle Key Arts Team
Turtle Key Arts produces and devices original ground-breaking art to entertain and inspire. We believe that access to the arts helps to improve quality of life by bringing people together, offering creative opportunities, social interaction, confidence and self-esteem.
We have an upcoming Turtle Opera workshop project - the project will run at the V&A Museum, South Kensington from Tuesday 17th – Friday 20th February 2026, 11am – 3:30pm.
The four days of workshops will involve participants creating their own stories and music for an informal performance, with a professional composer and director. A specialist team from Turtle Key Arts and the V&A will support the group, to help enable fun and friendships.
Please find attached our flyer which we would appreciate if you could share or forward to any young people or families you think would be suitable and may be interested.
