Visiting LT alumni
Parents, it's that time of year again when your older children who graduated from LT may be home from college and want to visit with their past teachers. While we are happy to help facilitate this connection, please be aware and inform your older children that they will need to follow the following guidelines:
🪪Have an acceptable ID
📆Make an appointment w/ teacher (only during teachers' conference period)
🤝Staff member greets student visitor in front office and escorts back to front office at end of visit.
- Student alumni should NOT be walking the hallways without a staff member escort
Semester Grades & Course Credit
As we approach the end of the school year, please note that 3rd and 4th quarter grades will be averaged to determine the Semester 2 (SEM2) grade.
High school course credit is awarded by semester, with each semester worth 0.5 credit.
Students who pass Semester 1 (SEM1) earn 0.5 credit
Students who pass Semester 2 (SEM2) earn 0.5 credit
In cases where a student fails one semester of a full-year course, the SEM1 and SEM2 grades may be averaged to determine if the student can still earn the full 1.0 credit for the course. If the combined average is 70 or above, full credit will be awarded.
If you have questions about grades or course credit, please contact your student’s counselor.

End-of-Year Chromebook Reminders
SENIORS
Senior Chromebooks were due to library on May 14 and May 15. Students must return both the Chromebook and the correct charger. We cannot accept teacher cords or off-brand chargers; it must be a Dell brand 65W charger. Before returning the device, students should remove any personal stickers, but they should not remove FISD barcode labels or numbers. If a senior needs to purchase a replacement charger or if their Chromebook is damaged, they must contact Ms. Serna so the fee ($20 for chargers) can be added to their account. Adding the fees and paying takes time, so don't wait!
When returning a Chromebook, students should only hand it directly to a staff member in the library who can issue a digital receipt. If equipment is not returned or fees are not paid on time, graduation tickets may be withheld, and diplomas may be held until the account is cleared.
Seniors will also lose access to their FISD account, including HAC, Canvas, the student portal, and H Drive, shortly after graduation, though Google access will remain available until January 2027.
STUDENTS IN GRADES 9-11
Students in grades 9–11 should begin checking their Chromebooks now for issues such as missing keys, cracked screens, sound, camera, trackpad, power button, wireless connection, and charger. Any needed repairs should be reported in Incident IQ, and teachers can help students submit a ticket if needed.
Students who are returning to FISD next year should keep their Chromebook and charger, even if they are transferring to another FISD high school. However, families who are moving out of district must return the Chromebook and charger to the library by May 19, and they should be sure to hand it to a staff member who can issue a receipt. Families who decide to leave FISD over the summer will need to return Chromebooks and chargers to the administration building.

Student Spotlight
There was something beautifully fitting about watching the sun set behind Lebanon Trail one last time with the Class of 2026 spread across the field, music playing, laughter echoing, and just enough nostalgia in the air to make everyone a little quieter than usual between jokes.
Our Senior Sunset event gave seniors the opportunity to experience their final sunset as Trail Blazers together, and it turned into one of those evenings that felt bigger than the event itself. Hot dogs and hamburgers disappeared at impressive speed (as expected from teenagers who somehow remain hungry no matter how much food appears), games broke out across the field, friends gathered for photos and conversations, and for a few hours nobody seemed particularly interested in leaving.
And honestly, that may have been the most meaningful part of the night.
They stayed. They lingered. They soaked it in.
After four years of classes, competitions, performances, pep rallies, deadlines, victories, setbacks, and hallway memories that probably seemed ordinary at the time, our seniors got the chance to simply exist together at LT one more time before graduation begins to pull everyone in different directions.
The sunset eventually came. The lights eventually dimmed. But for one evening, the Class of 2026 reminded us what makes this place special: the people, the connections, and the realization that sometimes the hardest part of home is knowing when it is time to say goodbye.
Second period this Monday looked a little different at Lebanon Trail this week… and significantly more competitive than anyone probably expected.
Our Senior Cornhole Tournament gave the Class of 2026 the chance to spend time together doing what seniors do best: competing with absolute seriousness over a game that was supposedly “just for fun.” Turns out Trail Blazers do not really have a casual mode.
With food trucks lined up, games spread across the area, music playing, and laughter carrying across campus, students spent the morning battling for cornhole supremacy while friends gathered to cheer, trash talk responsibly, and document every dramatic toss like it was the final round of a professional championship. Somewhere along the way, a few students may have discovered they missed their calling on the cornhole circuit.
But beyond the competition, the morning captured something special about this senior class. It was another opportunity to slow down, enjoy each other’s company, and create one more shared memory before graduation arrives and life begins pulling everyone toward new adventures.
Winning may not have been everything… but judging by the intensity of some of those matches, you probably could not have convinced our seniors of that in the moment.
There are few moments in high school that feel quite as timeless as a yearbook signing party. Somewhere between the laughter, the inside jokes written in permanent marker, and the inevitable “remember when…” stories, students suddenly realize they are living the very memories they will one day look back on most.
That feeling filled the room during this year’s inaugural Senior Signing Party.
With an absolutely outstanding yearbook in their hands — one that captured the intensity, heart, humor, and spirit of this school year beautifully — the Class of 2026 gathered to share one more moment together before graduation turns pages for all of us. Seniors moved from table to table writing messages, taking pictures, laughing loudly at stories that probably require entirely too much context to explain to adults, and reflecting on just how quickly these years passed.
What stood out most was the atmosphere. There was joy everywhere. There was camaraderie everywhere. Students from every corner of campus came together naturally, comfortably, and authentically in a way that perfectly reflects what Lebanon Trail has always tried to be: a place where people belong.
And perhaps that is the strange magic of senior year. The “good old days” students talk about later in life are not somewhere behind them waiting to be rediscovered. They are happening right now, in moments exactly like these.
For one morning, our seniors paused long enough to recognize it.
State Champion Alert! 🏆
A massive congratulations to Andrew (Drew) Malan, our new 3200m STATE Champion and 1600m State Silver Medalist! Drew truly exemplified what it means to be a Trail Blazer at the state meet. He secured his state title with a blazing-fast time of 9:08 in the 3200m. Then, after that grueling race, he showed incredible grit by returning to the track to earn second place in the 1600m.Drew has been steadfast in his pursuit of excellence, proving that dedication and hard work truly pay off. Yet, despite all his success, he has remained humble, coachable, and grounded. As phenomenal of an athlete as he is, he is an even better human being.
Drew, from all of us on the Trail: Congratulations! We cannot wait to see what records you break next and what the future holds for you.
Congratulations to Clemntine on being the 2026 Tri-M Music Honor Society Scholarship recipient. Clementine’s dedication to music and leadership within the chapter has been inspiring.
Congratulations to our outstanding students who earned medals at the UIL State Academics Competition! Your hard work, dedication, and commitment to excellence have made our school incredibly proud. Competing at the state level is an incredible achievement, and bringing home medals is a testament to your talent and perseverance. Way to represent LT with pride!
