Battle of the Books Fun!
Hello Falcon families!
Friday marked the last day of school for our kindergarten learners, and we will say goodbye to our preschoolers on Tuesday, May 19. Our youngest learners had a fantastic year full of exploration, play with a purpose and SO MUCH FUN! Thank you to our kindergarten and preschool staff, students and families for making it a year to remember!
The coming week is for our students in grades 1-5! On Monday we will recognize students who have earned ZERO office referrals in quarter 4. Students who earned ZERO referrals for the entire school year will also receive their sticker for that. We are proud of our learners and their focus on being the best that they can be each day!
We can't forget the academic greatness of a group of 3rd, 4th and 5th graders who competed in the Battle of the Books at the MSESC last week! Mrs. Holly Kramer, gifted intervention specialist, organized an opportunity for students to read up to 20 books and join in a competition with other Champaign County School to test their knowledge of the texts. Our Graham Elementary School teams competed and did very well! Graham teams ended up taking 1st and 2nd place in the competitions and we are proud of them!
On Monday evening, we will celebrate our 5th graders at our annual promotion event. Our fifth grade teaching team has worked hard to organize an evening of recognizing students' greatness and sending them to middle school with well wishes.
Last week's events brought smiles, laughter and fun for our GES learners. On Wednesday, we celebrated our ZERO and ONE referral earners with a day of fun! From Lunch with Lucy for 12 of our luckiest Falcons to Silent Disco, cotton candy snacks and BINGO, we hope our learners felt the thanks that we have for them working to make Graham Elementary School great each day! Many thanks to our GES Events Team for planning a great day to celebrate our learners!
We finished the week by selecting our 2026 HABIT HERO AWARD winner. We put all of this year's winners on a spinning wheel and ENSLEY HARDING was selected! Please see the picture below to see all the prized and the pride in her smile when she was presented with this honor! Many congratulations!
Field Day 2026 landed on a perfect day! The sun was out and the breeze was light. Students traveled through many stations and had an opportunity to enjoy KONA Ice as well. A HUGE thanks goes to all family volunteers whose help made the day possible. Thank you to Mr. Morr and Mr. Blosser who worked hard to make sure the day day was well-organized and successful!
As we finish up the fourth quarter of the school year, we are continuing to focus on our goals:
*academic growth and achievement
*We are measuring the number of learners at each grade level or are reading at grade level each
quarter.
*attendance
*We know that when our learners are at school consistently and on-time, they grow in so many
ways! We are measuring the percentage of students who are at school each day at each grade
level.
*behavior
*We hold our learners to high standards and expect them to be the best version of themselves
each day. We are measuring the number of bus/office referrals every day.

Families...we want to hear from YOU!
Hello Falcon Families! As we near the end of the 2025-2026 school year, we are asking for your feedback. Every year, we ask our families to complete the Leader In Me Measurable Results Assessment.
Starting on Monday, May 4, our school will be administering the Measurable Results Assessment (MRA), a survey and reporting system designed to provide insights into the progress of our school. In order to provide a holistic picture of what is going on in our school, the MRA includes three different surveys; 1) one completed by all school staff, 2) one completed by students in grades 4 and above, and 3) one completed by the families of students in all grades.
We hope you will participate so we can use the feedback to make our school an even better place for students and families. If you have any questions about the surveys or wish to see a list of questions, please contact the school’s front office.

At Graham Local Schools, we are proud to serve our students both as learners and as individuals. Community Health and Wellness Partners allows access to medical and mental-health supports. Read on to learn more👍
Community Health & Wellness Partners believes that school-based health care can play an important role in helping families manage the physical and mental health needs of their children. Having a health care center on-site at a school offers a convenient way for parents to have their child seen by a provider. A school-based health center also provides a consistent care provider relationship, reducing the need for parents to switch health care providers to fit their schedules or changes in health insurance.
The goal of a school-based health center is to minimize the time children are out of class and maximize the amount of time they spend learning. Studies have shown that students who receive school-based health care also have fewer long-term health issues and experience improved academic outcomes.
If you want to learn more, visit the Graham School-Based Health Center website HERE.

🚸GES Drop-Off and Pick-Up (car riders) Procedures🚸
Please read this in its entirety and abide by all procedures. Please contact Mrs. Shreve (shrevee@grahamlocalschools.org OR 937-663-4449 ext. 4605) with any questions.
At Graham Elementary, our students' safety is critical. One piece of ensuring student safety is the morning drop-offs and afternoon pick-ups procedures.
Please be reminded that the west lane of the front parking lot is for handicap drop-off only. Vehicles entering this lane should have a handicapped placard posted in their vehicle. Often times, the gate is not in the lane to allow for handicap drop-off/pick-up. Even when the gate is not blocking the lane, we ask that that lane be used for handicap drop-off/pick-up only.
In addition, the east lane of the front parking lot is not to be used in the afternoon. Typically, it is blocked by a saw horse. In the event that it is not, please refrain from using this lane.
Lastly, if someone other than parents/guardian are dropping off/picking up your child, please advise them of these procedures.
Thank you for your cooperation🙂
