Dear Parents and Guardians,
We hope this message finds you well and that you are as excited as we are about the upcoming week at Nichols. First, I want to remind you that Friday is the last day for students to finish taking their fall MAP assessments if they have been unable to complete it so far. Please make sure your child is at school and encourage them to do their best. Although we have a shortened week of 4 days, we have several wonderful events planned this week that we are eager to share with you and your child.
1. Picture Day – Tuesday, September 17th:
Our Picture Day is just around the corner! Students will have their photos taken during the school day, so please remind your child to dress in their favorite outfits. You’ll receive more information on ordering photos from Ms. Roland. This is a great opportunity to capture your child’s 6th grade memories.
2. Pirate Day – Thursday, September 19th:
Ahoy! We’re celebrating a fun-filled Pirate Day, and we encourage students to dress up in their best pirate attire. It’s a day of adventure and excitement with themed activities and festivities that will make for an unforgettable experience.
3. Curriculum Night – Thursday, September 19th at 6:30pm:
We are thrilled to invite you to our Curriculum Night, where you will have the chance to meet your child’s teachers and walk their schedule. This is a fantastic opportunity to get to know the educators who play a vital role in your child’s academic journey and to experience a day in their life at school. We look forward to discussing the curriculum and answering any questions you might have.
We are excited about the events planned and hope to see you at school to join in the fun and learning.
Your involvement is key to making these events successful and enriching for our students.
Thank you for your continued support and enthusiasm. If you have any questions or need further information, please feel free to contact me.
Best Regards,
Ms. Brunson
Come on Thursday to meet our 2024 - 2025 Nichols 6th Grade Educators!!
6th Grade Scientists
Mr. Sommer and Mr. Lawrence had students perform a lab called, "The Rainbow Lab". In the lab, students needed to demonstrate their ability to follow lab directions as well as their liquid measuring skills. If done correctly, the liquids should evenly divide into the 6 colors of the rainbow.
