We need your help with making room for buses to leave on Raider Drive! We need your help with making room for buses to leave on Raider Drive!

zoom_out_map

Dear Parents/Caregivers and Student Drivers:

We have 4 Benjamin Bus mini buses and 2 vans that need to leave the west parking lot after school through Raider Drive and ultimately Jefferson Parkway as soon as possible at the end of the school day. The current 10 plus minute wait time due to car traffic not letting them pass through, is creating delays at the other schools for end of the school day pick up.

Solution: Please yield to the 4 mini buses and 2 vans that are moving across traffic from the west end of the parking lot toward Raider Drive. Furthermore, yield to each other and take turns as you leave the parking lot.

Thank you for your cooperation,

Shane Baier

NHS Principal

Principal Update: 2nd Quarter Midterms Principal Update: 2nd Quarter Midterms

zoom_out_map

Dear NHS Students, Families and Staff:

All midterm grades have been posted. Midterm grades are designed to serve as a formative check on academic progress. Students will earn credit upon successful completion of all requirements by combining the 1st quarter and 2nd quarter grades with final exam, project or end of quarter assessment. As students reflect on current progress, our teachers are ready to partner with students, before or after school, as well as, during FLEX time. Please take the time to conference with your child about school progress to date. Check out the fall semester pictures/videos of the NHS experience here.

Thank you for your continued support and confidence in the NHS team's capacity to serve in the honorable role as educators in your child's life.

Sincerely,

Shane Baier

NHS Principal

Trout in the Classroom Project Returns! Trout in the Classroom Project Returns!

On Tuesday 12/10/24 NHS was able to get 2 sets of Rainbow Trout Eggs from Trout Unlimited MN TIC, (Minnesota Trout in the Classroom Program). In D102, Biology Teacher, Craig Johnson will grow trout in his classroom tank and in V100, Ag Teacher, TJ Austin will grow his trout as part of the Wildlife, Fish and Forestry class. While these two teachers are competitive, the whole goal here is to share the trout raising process with as many students, and family members with our weekly Raider Updates. Our end result will be to release trout into the Little Cannon River in April and May. If you have followed the D102 trout journey for the past few years, we hope you enjoy it again.

Thursday's class project was to count all of the eggs for each room, while looking at a photo of them on their iPads... We still need to finalize the numbers, as the student answers have ranged around the 260 total.
