Week of Respect: October 6th–10th
Next week we will join schools across New Jersey in celebrating the Week of Respect! At Clara Barton, our school counselor, Ms. O’Neill, has prepared a wonderful week of activities to help our Eagles learn and reflect on the importance of showing respect to themselves, to others, and to our community.
-
Spirit Week Dress Days – Check out the attached flyer for our daily theme dress-up fun!
-
Morning Meeting Resources – Ms. O’Neill will be sharing short presentations and activities through her Google Classroom to help guide meaningful class discussions on respect.
-
Extra Resources – Additional tools and activities will be available for teachers and students to reinforce our focus on respect all week long.
We are excited to see our Eagles come together to celebrate kindness, caring, and respect!

Supporting Every Student with MTSS
At Clara Barton, we are committed to making sure every child has what they need to learn, grow, and succeed. New Jersey schools use a framework called Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (NJTSS/MTSS) to provide help in four important areas: academics, social-emotional learning, behavior, and attendance.
-
Academics: Extra help and enrichment so all students can reach their learning goals.
-
Social-Emotional Learning: Building skills like confidence, resilience, and problem solving.
-
Behavior: Encouraging positive choices and creating a safe, respectful school environment.
-
Attendance: Partnering with families to promote strong, consistent school attendance.
This approach allows us to work together with families to give students the right level of support at the right time. Our goal is to ensure every Eagle can thrive both in and out of the classroom!

The Importance of School Attendance
Every school day counts! Regular attendance helps children build strong learning habits, stay connected with classmates, and succeed academically. Please remember that attendance letters are sent home after 4 unexcused absences. Thank you for partnering with us to support your child’s success!

Family Days At Barton: Wear Your Barton Colors!
Family Day at Clara Barton Elementary is a cherished school-wide tradition where classes pair across grade levels to build community and foster meaningful connections. Together, students engage in activities that focus on social-emotional learning, character development through our “We Are” words, and teamwork through games and reflection. It’s a time for students to strengthen peer relationships, celebrate school spirit by wearing their CBE gear, and take pride in being part of the CBE family.
