Promotion Ceremony Information For Grade 8 Families
Dear Redwood Eighth Grade Families:
As another great school year comes to a close, it is with excitement that we are planning activities to recognize Redwood students for completing the middle school level of their education. Please review the following information regarding our 2026 Promotion Ceremony. We look forward to celebrating your student's accomplishments with you!
Basic Information
- Gates open at 12:30pm. Guests may enter through Gainsborough Road gate or through the Main Service Road gate. Programs will be distributed at each gate, please take one per family (as possible).
- Students should report to the GYM by 12:30 p.m. Students should not bring cell phones. They are not allowed during the ceremony. Will not have a location to store them during the ceremony.
Ceremony Attire - Students
Promotion attire for all students is “Business Casual." We strongly encourage students to wear flat shoes or low heels as we will be on the grass. We encourage participating students to dress their best. No jeans please.
Are Tickets Required for Entrance?
While the event does not require a ticket, seating on the field is first come first served. The field space is large, however the number of seats available is limited. Guests may stand in the back as desired but please refrain from standing near the front of the stage.
- Note: Cornerstone photography will be taking professional photos. Guests are not allowed to stand in the background of the photographer, near the front of the stage. Thank you for helping to make everyone's photo fantastic!
Handicap Seating & Parking
There is limited availability for guests requesting handicap parking and/or seating. Please note that the ceremony will be held on grass and guests will walk approximately 200 yards from the gate to the the ceremony location.
- Submit handicap requests to Ms. Sonja Gannfors at sgannfors@conejousd.org or call (805) 497-7264
Can I Bring Noisemakers or Umbrellas to the Ceremony?
- Umbrellas may be used, but we do ask that anything blocking the view of those behind you will be put away at the start of the ceremony. The field is large and if guests require their umbrella open during the ceremony we ask they kindly move to the back of the field as to not block the view for others.
