Schedule Changes: Sept 3rd is the last day for schedule changes
The only schedule change window for the school year will be the 1st week of the 1st trimester. This is the only opportunity to change a student’s schedule for all three trimesters. The last day to make a schedule change appointment is Tuesday September 3rd. Students can schedule an appointment with their counselor by emailing Ms. Fosdick at fosdickp1@salineschools.org.
SCHEDULE CHANGE POLICY - 2024-25
Counselors will be meeting with students to make changes to their schedules on August 19, 20, 26, 27, 28, 29, and September 2. This is the schedule change window for the entire year. We will not be making additional schedule changes during the year unless a student is leveling down from an AP or Honors class. There will not be additional schedule change windows for trimesters 2 and 3.
Students wishing to try to make a change to their schedule will need to make an appointment through your counselor’s QR code on your schedule for August 19 and 20, and then through Mrs. Fosdick (fosdickp1@salineschools.org) for the remaining schedule change dates.
Students will be granted 1 schedule change appointment. During this appointment, the student can look at changing multiple classes for the year, but will only be permitted 1 appointment.
Due to the volume of students wishing to make a schedule change there is simply not enough time to accommodate everyone prior to the school year beginning. Our teachers are aware that schedule changes will be made for 5 days once the school year begins and work to make sure students aren’t behind.
Requests for teacher changes may be able to be accommodated, but only if a student is going from a larger class to a smaller class.
No additional online classes will be added for the 2024-25 school year

When there are presentations, surveys, or materials shown during Hornet Time, we will provide them the week before when possible.
Students will attend Hornet Time on Wednesday each week.
Students in an SWWC class during 2nd hour will have Advisory with their 2nd hour teacher. They will not have a "Hornet Time" listed on their schedule.
The "Be Good People" curriculum is referenced often throughout the year. Information on this curriculum can be found here: Life Skills - 9-12 Core Edition (google.com)
September 4:
Grades 9-11 will have a presentation on opportunities for Clubs and Activities
Grade 12 will have a class meeting with counselors on post-secondary planning. The message sent to the Class of 2025 via email on 8/28 can be found below.
Class of 2025,
We will be meeting with your class next Wednesday during Hornet Time regarding post high school plans and graduation. You will then also get an individual meeting time with your counselor regarding these things. However, in the meantime, we know some of you are in the process of working on your college applications and wanted to pass along some things that might help.
- Common Application Guide for First Year Students - This is a step by step page that will help walk you through using the Common App
- Once you add colleges to your Common App you can then add recommenders
- Part of the Common App is a page called Counselor Recommendation. This is different than a letter of recommendation. If schools require a letter of recommendation it is most likely from a core teacher
- Have you set up a Parchment (parchment.com) account in order to be able to request your transcripts to be sent to colleges? If you haven't, the guide is attached, and please use your personal email. If you already created an account, DON'T create a 2nd one
- You can send your transcripts before your application is done
- You will use Parchment to send your transcripts to schools. If you save them as a file and send them from your email, they won't accept them.
- Don't wait to add your counselor or recommenders. We like to begin working on them as soon as we can and we don't need to wait until you're finished or for when your appointment is
