Walker Families!
Dear Walker Elementary Families,
As we wrap up another incredible school year, I want to take a moment to thank all of you for your continued support, partnership, and trust. This year was filled with so many wonderful memories, celebrations, and achievements, and none of it would have been possible without our amazing students, staff, and families working together.
Thank you for sharing your children with us each day. It has been a joy to watch them learn, grow, build friendships, and create lasting memories throughout the year. We are so proud of all they have accomplished both inside and outside the classroom.
I also want to thank our families for the countless ways you supported our school community — from attending events and volunteering your time to encouraging your children each day. Your partnership truly makes Walker such a special place.
As summer break begins in a week or so, I hope your family has time to relax, recharge, and enjoy special moments together. Whether your summer is filled with adventures, vacations, camps, or simply enjoying slower days at home, I wish each of you a safe, happy, and amazing summer break.
We look forward to welcoming everyone back in the fall for another great year at Walker!

School Information and Procedures
Attendance Matters
Students who attend school regularly feel more connected to their school community and are more engaged in learning. As a result, they are more likely to earn better grades and test scores and have greater chances of graduating and achieving postsecondary success.
It is crucial to start setting good attendance habits in the child's first year in school. Preschoolers who are chronically absent are likely to continue to be chronically absent as they get older in school. From pre-K through high school, poor attendance can negatively affect students socially and emotionally:
- They feel out of place
- They fall behind in their work
- They miss meaningful opportunities that can inspire their future
- They have a hard time working with others
- They don't see how school is connected to their future success
Students who are chronically absent are more likely to have low grades and test scores and are less likely to be on track for high school graduation.
April Perfect Attendance
The students below had perfect attendance for the month of April! Great job families!
