A Successful First Month

Hello South High Families,

The first three weeks of school have been a successful introduction to the rituals and routines of South High. Students have a good understanding of the expectations.

  • Arriving on time to first hour is a strong strategy to meet the goal of good academic standing and a great comprehension of the classroom learning objectives.
  • Depositing cell phones into the "phone home" boxes at the start of each hour is a helpful strategy to maintain focus on the learning in class with both the teacher and their peers.
  • Utilizing the passing time to efficiently transition from class to class and enter the classroom, on time, each hour of the day.
  • Finding the joy in the day to day of South High!! We invite you to share the celebrations. (See communication link below).

We will continue to review the expectations via the Tiger Roar each day. Please support our efforts by reminding your students of the expectations shared here. Thanks for your partnership. Have a great weekend.

Super Soccer Saturday

Thanks to the soccer boosters for hosting an amazing day of competition today. Games started as early as 9am against our friendly neighborhood high school, Roosevelt. We witnessed fabulous sportsmanship and athletic skills on our own home soccer field. It was an wonderful day in spite of the rain.

Orange Shirt Day

On September 30, many people across the United States and Canada wear orange shirts to observe Orange Shirt Day. This annual event serves as a powerful memorial to the thousands of Indigenous children who were forced into residential and boarding schools, honoring both the survivors and the many who never returned home.

We invite our students, staff and South High community to wear an orange shirt, Sept. 30.
