UES Food Service Opening

The Montpelier Roxbury Public Schools Food Service Department is looking for help in the UES kitchen. School food is a fun, rewarding job with hours that are perfect for folks with kids in school. We are seeking Food Service Assistants and Food Service Substitutes for positions in all of our schools. Prior food service experience is great but not necessary, we are willing to train the right candidate. If you are interested you can find an application at the District Central Office at Montpelier High School or at SchoolSpring.com. If you have questions about the positions that are available you can contact Food Service Director Jim Birmingham at 225-8016 or at jamesbirmingham@mpsvt.org.

Caregiver Opportunity: Application Screening & Interview Committee

As we prepare for the 2023- 2024 school year, we will likely have a need to create Screening/Interview Committees which will review and interview applicants for potential openings at Union Elementary School. We are hoping to create a bank of caregivers that are willing to serve in this capacity to ensure that caregiver perspectives are taken into account throughout the hiring process. Ideally, each committee, for each position, would consist of: 1-2 Caregivers, 2-4 Existing Staff members & an administrator. The commitment would include signing a confidentiality agreement regarding the entire process (to protect the privacy of all applicants), reading through qualified applications, & joining the interview committee in screening candidates by asking questions, and then providing feedback. These would be volunteer positions but a critical help in ensuring we continue to bring in the best staff to Union Elementary School.

If you are willing to add your name to potential caregiver member list, please email Katie Barea at katiebarea@mpsvt.org using the subject heading "Screening/Interview Committee." Feel free to add in if there are particular areas in which you would be most comfortable in.

Please note that depending on the number of volunteers, not everyone that volunteers will be selected. We will work to ensure it's an equitable process as we determine the committee membership. Thanks for your consideration!

Pandemic-EBT Benefits

The federal government has approved Pandemic-EBT benefits for the current school year, until the end of the public health emergency. Because our district offers free meals to all students this year, this makes all students eligible to get P-EBT benefits for any days they had an excused COVID-related absence or if there was a COVID-related school closure. Please read this important letter for information regarding this benefit, eligibility, and who to contact should you have questions.
