Vision: At Hines Elementary, we are committed to cultivating a vibrant and dynamic learning environment that ignites curiosity, fosters creativity, and celebrates student achievements. We are dedicated to providing opportunities for critical thinking that are essential for academic success and positive character growth. Through collaboration with families and the wider community, we strive to empower our students to reach their full potential and become responsible, compassionate, and engaged citizens.
A Note from Mrs. Mathe
We rounded out February with a bang! On Wednesday, our GOHS feeder came together for the Harlem Wizards game. Although our GO team didn’t take the win, they had a great showing with some amazing plays! Our Hines Cheer and Twirl clubs also put on a fantastic halftime performance...great job, ladies!
This week, our 2nd and 1st grade students wrapped up their ELA units with classroom celebrations, including dressing up as doctors and watching Tangled.
We also celebrated our Husky HERO award winners for exhibiting kindness and living out what it means to be a Husky HERO. Congratulations to all of our winners!
Arnold Elementary Principal- Jamie Almond
I’m excited to welcome Jamie Almond back to the Grand Oaks feeder as the inaugural principal of Kacy Arnold Elementary! Ms. Almond has served Conroe ISD in many roles over the years, most recently as principal of Suchma Elementary, another K–6 campus in the district. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our community, and I am so glad we will be working closely together next year! Ms. Almond will be reaching out soon to families impacted by rezoning, so please be on the lookout for that communication.

Student Spotlight
Student Spotlight is a dedicated section in The Hines Herald that celebrates the amazing achievements, acts of kindness, talents, and positive contributions of our Huskies both inside and outside of school.
This space recognizes students who are reaching personal goals, excelling in academics, athletics, or the arts, serving others, or making a meaningful difference in our community. Our students are accomplishing incredible things, and Student Spotlight is one way we proudly share and celebrate those moments.
We encourage families to submit their child’s accomplishments so we can continue highlighting and honoring the many ways our Huskies shine. We look forward to featuring more of these inspiring stories!
Eva Abramyan- 3rd Grade
Eva is at it again! Congratulations to Eva Abramyan for an outstanding performance at the 22nd Annual Dick & Ida Wilson Memorial Invitational in Dallas on February 13! Competing against some serious talent, Eva truly shined on the boards, earning 2nd place on the 1-meter and 4th place on the 3-meter events.
Her dedication, focus, and hard work continue to set her apart, and we couldn’t be more proud of the way she represents our community both in and out of the pool.

WE NEED YOU!
Hines Elementary is excited to host our annual Diversity Celebration Night, and we would love for our families to be part of it!
We are inviting families to host a table representing a country, culture, or family tradition that is meaningful to you. This is a wonderful opportunity to share what makes your family unique through displays, artifacts, traditional clothing, music, photos, or small food samples (optional).
Our goal is to celebrate the many cultures and backgrounds that make Hines such a special community. Whether your family has deep roots in another country or simply wants to share a special tradition, we welcome your participation!
If you are interested in hosting a table, please sign up using the QR attached to the flyer or contact Mrs. Taylor-Ross for more information. We can’t wait to celebrate with you!

The Race to Grand Oaks
We are excited to introduce The Race to Grand Oaks, May 9, 2026, on the campus of Grand Oaks High School. A community fun run designed to bring together feeder schools and the surrounding community in a spirit of friendly competition, school pride, and unity. While the event highlights the Grand Oaks feeder pattern, all schools and community members are welcome and encouraged to participate.
The Race to Grand Oaks is produced by Together We Run, a local company run by moms of students in the Grand Oaks feeder zone who strive to foster community through competition.
Our goal is to build a stronger sense of community while supporting programs that benefit our students. Proceeds from the race will support the York and Grand Oaks cross country and track programs, helping provide opportunities and resources for student-athletes.
To encourage school participation, $3 from every registration will be donated back to the PTO of the feeder school selected at the time of registration. In addition, the top three feeder schools with the highest participation will receive an additional donation for their PE departments.
Participants can also help boost their school’s standing through donations to The Youth Alliance (www.tyall.org). Every $5 donated equals one vote for the donor’s feeder school of choice, giving schools even more opportunity to place in the top three while supporting an organization dedicated to serving youth in our community.
There is an active discount promo code (Grizzlies2026) for 10% off all registrations that is valid through March 8, 2026.
