Happy Principal's Appreciation Day Mrs. Campbell!!
As we celebrate Principal Appreciation Day May 1st, I wanted to take a moment to express our deepest gratitude for our incredible Mrs. Campbell!!
She is truly the heart of our school, working tirelessly behind the scenes and in the forefront to support each and every one of us – our dedicated staff, our bright students, and our supportive families. Her leadership is characterized by authenticity, a genuine care for others, and a remarkable ability to make everyone feel heard and valued.
Mrs. Campbell has cultivated a school environment where we feel supported, encouraged, and empowered. She listens with an open heart and mind, and her actions consistently demonstrate her unwavering commitment to our well-being and success. It's no wonder she has earned the trust and respect of all who have the privilege of knowing and working with her.
Thank you, Mrs. Campbell, for your exceptional leadership, your unwavering support, and for making our school such a positive and thriving place to learn and grow. We are truly fortunate to have you!

We’re kicking off our March of Dimes fundraiser, and we’d love your help in getting the word out! This is a great way for our school to come together to support the health of moms and babies.
Families can donate online using this link:https://www.marchforbabies.org/team/mayranchwranglers . Please make a note of teacher name under the notes part in the donations. We will be accepting donations until May 2nd. We will also be collecting coins and bills in classrooms for those who prefer to donate with cash.
To make it extra fun, the top two classes (One upper, one lower) that raise the most money will win an ice cream party! 🍦🎉 Let’s get our students excited and see which classes can bring in the most support!

Wrangler Ready! Attendance Matters!
Last Week was Better
Four Days over the last 10!
Attendance is not about money
It's about being present to learn and grow
Good attendance is much more important then school funding. In order for student's to achieve academic excellence and social emotional skills, they must attend school on a regular basis. Each day students are forming habits that will impact them for their life spans.
182 Absences This Week
Thank you May Ranch Families for Making Attendance a Priority!
We are FIRST for all Elementary Schools!!!

Practice Mindfulness at Home✌🏻
Mindfulness is all about paying attention to the present moment without judgment. It can help kids (and adults!) manage stress, improve focus, and increase emotional awareness. Here are some simple, fun, and practical ways to incorporate mindfulness into your family's daily routine:
1. Mindful Breathing Exercises😤
Belly Breathing: Have everyone lie down and place a hand on their belly. As you breathe in, feel your belly rise like a balloon. As you breathe out, feel it deflate. Count each breath in and out. Try for 5-10 breaths.
"Smell the Flowers, Blow out the Candles": 💐Pretend you're holding a beautiful flower. Breathe in deeply through your nose, smelling its fragrance. Then, pretend you're blowing out birthday candles, exhaling slowly through your mouth. Repeat several times.
Take 5 Breathing:5️⃣ Hold up one hand, palm facing you. Using the index finger of your other hand, trace up and down each finger, breathing in as you go up and breathing out as you go down. This is a great one for kids to do independently.
2. Mindful Eating🥗
Sensory Exploration: 🍓Choose a small snack like a raisin, piece of chocolate, or a berry. Before eating it, encourage everyone to use all their senses. What does it look like? Smell like? Feel like? Finally, slowly taste it, paying attention to the flavors and textures.
No Distractions: 😎Designate one meal a day as a "mindful meal." Turn off the TV, put away phones, and focus solely on the food and enjoying each other's company.
Arrival/Dismissal Reminders
Pets/Animals- Reminder from our Parent/Student Handbook
Other than service animals for students with disabilities and animals used for instructional
purposes by teachers, pets and animals are prohibited from being on school property during,
before, or after school hours. This is necessary to ensure the health, safety and welfare of all
students and staff.
- Parking Reminders: Please do not park, stop, or leave your car along the red curb or on Evans or Morgan. Thank you for prioritizing the safety and accessibility of our designated areas. Please refer to our Parking Lot Flow below for arrival/dismissal expectations. Our Val Verde Police Department is enforcing this!
Reminder Picking up Students Early/Emergency Contacts
To limit disruptions, we do not call out scholars within 20 mins. of dismissal!
- Please try to plan appointments outside of the school day to avoid your child missing valuable instruction.
- Any individual picking up a scholar early from school needs to provide a Photo ID and be listed on the emergency contact list.
- For your child's safety, we cannot release a scholar to someone who does not have an ID or who is not listed in the emergency contacts.
- Parents can update emergency contact information through Parent Portal or by presenting identification to update their contact information in person. Phone requests to update contact information will not be permitted.
- To limit disruptions to classroom dismissals, we do not call out scholars within 20 minutes of dismissal.
Pause⏸, Breathe😤, Think 🤔
A quick tip for parents: Teach the "Pause, Breathe, Think" strategy.
When your child is upset or facing a problem, guide them to:
1️⃣ Pause – Stop and take a moment before reacting.
2️⃣ Breathe – Take a deep breath to calm down.
3️⃣ Think – Ask, "What’s the problem?" and "What are my choices?"
This helps them develop emotional regulation and problem-solving skills in a simple, repeatable way. Modeling this yourself will reinforce the habit.😀
